I am sorry but I have to rant. I had lost about 45lbs last year before I found out I was pregnant. I am 5ft 3in and was down to 172lbs. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I was on a low carb Atkins diet and it seemed to really work for me with moderate exercise. Since January I have been adding carbs here and there but tried to stay on plan. I have laxed on my workouts as well. At the end of April I found out I was pregnant, about just over 4 weeks. I had already gained about 13lbs back. I have been so tired that I never got back on to exercising. My first appt in June 4th so I was waiting to go back to exercising. I just weighed myself today, granted it was not first thing before I ate, and I gained another 10lbs. I just don't what I am going to do other than go back to limiting carbs and eating healthy vegetables and lean protein. I can't believe I have gained so much weight already. I have no ms so I am sorry if you are going through it and I really should just be thankful I can eat. I just need to get control of this otherwise I am going to have a miserable time and pregnancy. Thanks for listening.
Re: Gaining too much weight already uggh
But lots of non-starchy vegetables, lean protein, some good fats, a bit of fruit, and even some healthy grains (like quinoa) all sound reasonable to me. You can do it!
Also, its possible you have a corpus luteal cyst and that could account for some of the weight. I am not diagnosing you, lol, just pointing out a possibility
One thing that helped me was to go to a nutritionist to talk about how many calories I was consuming and what my body needed for pregnancy. My midwife wasn't much help, but hopefully yours will be.
Hang in there.
