Welp, despite more encouraging numbers, IUI#3 was a big fat fail. I did a great job staying busy, not stressing, and I know DH has been super hopeful. Hopeful to the point of being weird about it. He hasn't shaved in several days and I kept nagging him about it, because I hate the stubble, and who wants a summer beard, anyway? Finally he confessed that it was his "good luck beard" because apparently he shaved right after the last IUI and that was a BFN. He's going to take this one hard. I haven't told him yet because he's out of town. I POAS yesterday at 10dpiui and a few hours later started cramping, then that bitch AF showed up shortly after, 2 days early. And I can't even console myself with a drink(s) because I'm on call. God I hate IF. I think we're going to take a couple cycles off so we can have a party this summer for my 30th and I'll be able to drink myself silly if I feel like it. IVF still in the future...someday...though I have a feeling DH will want to try another IUI since his numbers improved so much for this last one. Blerg. At least I can look forward to a fun BBQ with friends tomorrow and I will definitely be enjoying a drink or several there since I go off call in the AM. Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend and hugs to all that need them!

  • I'm 10dpiui with Clomid #2 and I got a BFN this morning. :-( I know it's early, but I'm not feeling very hopeful. I have a WTF appointment scheduled for Tuesday. I'm going to ask about moving onto something besides Clomid, as I have not been responding well.

We had a pretty low-key weekend planned, which is good. For Memorial Day we're just cooking out. :-)

  • No changes here. Hoping for AF soon (temps dropping). FX.

I'm working my tail off this weekend! Work is crazy busy (Made $200 in tips in 4 hrs), plus I finished the first draft of my first full-length novel, and I've already begun the review and revision process. On top of that, I'm driving to Seattle on Tuesday for a meeting with a charity I want to organize a fundraiser for. I'm exhausted but staying busy has kept me from worrying about IF too much.

I'm on day 7 of stims. I went in this morning and my e2 is at 367 (was only 89 two days ago) and I have 47 follies. 25 on the right and 22 on the left. Most of them are still small, but I have 10 that are 10-12mm and about another 20 around 8mm so we'll see what happens!

AF came three days ago and confirmed what I already knew. Since DH and I are out of town and will have to miss our cd 3 u/s, this cycle is going to have to be a natural one. I hate having a "wasted" month but I'm trying to put IF on the back burner and relax a little!

We are on vacation in New Orleans til Wednesday! So my holiday plans are eating too much, enjoying some yummy cocktails and relaxing!

IUI #5 was canceled because I did an HSG this week after my wtf appt and looks like I have a hydro on my right tube. Scheduled my next consult for 6/5 where we will discuss most likely doing a lap and following that up with IVF!

No big plans for me. I am working tomorrow. I would have taken it off if I had thought to plan it earlier!

    Me: 32  DH: 33  Married: March 2004

    July 2006: started TTC
2008: HSG (normal), couple rounds of clomid through gyno
2008 - 2010: dragging my feet out of fear and procrastination
October 2010: first consultation with RE, dx PCOS and fibroids (DH slightly low count/motility)
Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2012:  In DENIAL! avoided the issue because I was scared of surgery
January 2013: returned to RE, fibroids grew significantly
February 2013: second HSG, fibroids pushed on tubes which blocked them somewhat
March 2013: MRI to determine what type of surgery may be necessary

July 29, 2013: fibroids (5) removed via robotic laparascopy
August 2013 - Nov 2013 : benched due to recent surgery

    IUI #1, Dec. 24, 2013, BFN
    IUI #2, Jan. 25, 2014, BFN
    IUI #3, Feb. 25, 2014  BFN
IUI #4 canceled due to lack of response to letrozole
    IUI #4.1 April 28, 2014, BFN

May 16, 2014: wtf consult, start prepping for IVF in June and add injects for one last IUI in the meantime
IUI #5 started letrozole and bravelle but canceled after HSG led to new diagnosis

May 21, 2014: third HSG, tubes blocked, one at the beginning, one hydrosalpinx??
June 11, 2014: consult, approved to move on to IVF because the hydro is not completely blocked therefore allowing fluid to move through slowly rather than backwards
    IVF #1 August 8, 2014 - 3dt of 2 embryos, BFN
September 17, 2014 - 4th HSG, the right tube is very patent (open!!) dye went straight through this time. Weird!
    October 2, 2014 - started metformin treatment
    November 14, 2014 - blood work, brought A1C down from 5.8 to 5.5

November 26, 2014 - RE finally back from vaca and reviewed my chart, no more IVFs for rest of calendar year
December 1, 2014 - Right after Thanksgiving, I called a new clinic and got in right away! Plan for IVF
    December 17, 2014 - ER! 29 retrieved (!!), 16 mature, all 16 fertilized (ICSI)

    IVF #2 December 20, 2014 - 3dt of 3 embryos, BFN

We are done with treatment unsuccessfully. :(

  • Hugs to everyone who needs them this week! =( I myself am feeling pretty decent! I finally finally finally after many months got a Pos OPK. (Last month was a false pos and it really bummed me out so I triple tested this one lol) We had really good timing and this cycle was just all around good. So we are into the 2WW. Even if this month is another bust I feel like we have already accomplished a feat by pos opk. It would be my luck to get pg this month. When I bought a huge bulk order of wondfos last month, got a tattoo the end of this week, and making lots of plans that are not condusive to pregnancy. However I would be so absolutely thrilled! I have felt so down the last couple of months but this month has been just amazing for me. I told my hubby I have a feeling when I finally do get pg its going to be twin boys. I just feel that lol. Well sending pos vibes to everyone =)

  • AF is over and I start my BC pills tonight so that we are able to do the surgery a little later than the CD 6-12 requirement due to work stuff. Surgery is scheduled and pre-op appointment is on Friday. I am trying not to be nervous but I'm just scared. I'm scared about the anesthesia, I'm scared about what they are going to find... Ahhh! I just need to relax and know they do this all the time but it's all overwhelming. ((Grabbing vodka from freezer now...))

Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013

DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help

Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube

April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if

it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF

June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!

June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue

is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA  in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.

  • I'm just waiting for CD 1. I have a feeling it isn't going to come naturally again. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'm at CD 29 now. As soon as we hit CD 1, we are on the IVF road. I just want to get started.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

Hi @jencity9‌ ! No worries at all :) I'm having a lap/hysteroscopy and a salpingectomy. My HSG showed my right tube is blocked and appears to be severely damaged so that one will for sure be coming out. Then depending on if the right tube issues caused damage to the left one it may come out but hopefully will be able to stay. She will know more when she gets in. I know I need to not be such a sissy but this is the first real surgery I've ever had and the thought of what she finds will determine how we go forward is making me a crazy person, lol.

Edit: I just noticed the last bit of your siggy and it looks like we may be in the same boat with the right tube issues.  Keep us posted if you can/want! :) good luck!

  • Now that I have all my test results (which I haven't been able to figure out how to make a signature about) we are just waiting for our consult on the 6th. I'm guessing since everything seems okay on my end and DH has low counts and low motility that we will be doing IUIs. Unfortunately we may have to wait until school is out in July since its really rough taking off as a teacher.

  • We have our appointment with the Reproductive Immunologist set for 8/27. Hopefully she will be able to shed some light on why we've had 3 failed IVFs and a failed FET with donor embryos. We are still deciding on how to proceed with treatment. DH really wants to move on to the frozen donor egg guarantee plan with RBA in Atlanta, but the cost has me a little concerned.

    PAIF/SAIF Welcome!

  • Hello, everyone! IUI #3 will take place tomorrow morning for us. Had my follicle scan yesterday, and showed almost the exact same response as the previous cycle. I was so nervous of over response, so I'm thankful for the two good follicles on my right. Of course my IUI had to be scheduled right near the end of a meeting I cannot get out of, so I'm hopeful that indicating I have a personal appt will be enough to get me out early without too many questions. Thankfully my coworkers do not pry in those situations.

I'm also planning to scale back on running until AF, which will suck. I feel like I'm losing a battle against keeping my weight down, and not being able to run isn't helping matters. BUT I'm trying to follow dr's orders, even just 90% of the time ;)

Good luck to everyone this week!

  • 10dpo and BFN here.  I suppose it's still early, but I'm pretty sure that this cycle is a bust.  I'd like CD 1 to show up so that we can maybe have CD3 bloodworm and ultrasound on Thursday when we meet with the new RE.

    Good luck, all!

  • @lebradford - I'm keeping my fx for you!  But should you move on to a next cycle, FWIW, I was a poor responder with femara and have had really great responses using injects.  Best of luck to you!

*I also feel like I should mention that my love tits are to give love and support, not necessarily because I love the update itself.  Wishing you all lots of luck and hugs to those who need them.

AFM, day 7 of stimming for IVF#1.  I have been feeling really shitty - nausea and vomiting, but I'm just praying it will all be worth it.  This morning we had 5 follies mature (17-20mm) and 9 others working on it (11-16mm).  ER is looking like Thurs, but we'll know more when I go back tomorrow.

  • Thanks, @jaytee16! Honestly, I'm really hoping to just move onto injects instead of trying Femara. I just hate to invest my time and money into another cycle that has the high potential to only have one follicle. Thanks for your support!

I'm glad you're growing lots of follies for retrieval! I've been wondering how you were doing. I'm sorry you're feeling bad though. :-(

    theholmanherd, that's some serious productivity!

I'm 7dpo and had my blood drawn this morning to test my progesterone level. It was fine last time, so I assume it will be fine this time. I feel like my AMH was a little low (2.0). And I found out I'm a carrier for CF (R117H 7T), so now we're waiting on MH's CF test results.
We had two big follicles the day before I O'd, and had good timing, so now I'm just waiting. If we get a BFN/AF shows & he's not a CF carrier, we'll move onto IUI next I guess.
