Old Threads - my two cents

Just in case some of us don't realize it - be careful when you are posting on old threads. I noticed a lot of threads about 20 days old being responded to this morning. When you reply to a thread, the OP of that thread will probably receive a notification. If, unfortunately, that OP is no longer pregnant, it may be hard on them to receive that notification.

Very good point. I normally look at the post date before I reply plus I'm to lazy to click any futher than the first page.

  • That would definitely suck - and wasn't trying to be insensitive as I lost my first and know it hurts. I was just trying to not start new threads if one already existed on the topic I was thinking about. Will definitely try to be careful not to hurt feelings.

  • @mathgirlash‌ Note: I wasn't trying to call you out specifically - everyone should take a note of it. I know that it's hard to figure out TB when you first start. Just thought I would remind new and old users alike :)

  • So I am totally on board with this statement!!!

...that being said, I think we also need to be easier on people when they post a question that has already been asked. I will see a lot of times someone say, "if you searched you would see there have already been posts about this/similar things."

Just my 2 cents- not that anyone asked for it ;)

A lot of times those questions are symptom related and there is a daily symptom thread posted. I've tried to stop clicking on anything I think is a symptom thread just bc it is becoming very annoying to read the same question over and over and also the answer is always the same. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is me not responding (or trying not to) to those threads is me being easier haha.

  • So what counts as "old" in this world? Days? Weeks? In other forums, something that is only a few weeks old really isn't considered "old" although I know with pregnancy things can change hourly.
