Sunscreen

What sunscreen brand/type are you using for LO, and why did you choose it? I am looking for a product that's more natural and gentle on the baby's skin.

Re: Sunscreen

  • baby ganics stick, and neutrogena ultra sheer spf 45 for LO.

We also have tubes of banana boat spf 50, a tube of No-ad spf 70 and a can of banana boat sport spf 50. Mostly for my husband.

  • Pedi recommended using Neutrogena when my 5 year old was a baby so that's what we've been using ever since. He was a preemie and has pretty sensitive skin and this is what works for him and now DD.

  • We used coppertone 70 on LO for the first time yesterday and it seemed to work pretty good. Her face was a little pink but that was bc I didn't put enough on her trying to avoid getting it in her eyes. Ill have to get a stick for face applications. No skin irritation so far. We've always used coppertone for us so that's why we started it for her.

  • Aveeno sensitive baby it was the easiest to find with physical blockers. (Regular Aveeno baby uses chemical blockers).

  • We have a mish mash.  For Q we have Babyganics and Neutrogena, both mineral sunblocks.  For Aiden we try to use the sunblock as well but we also have spray sunscreen because sometimes I have to take ease over best if he's on the run :)

  • Neutrogena pure baby for body and aveeno baby face stick for face. Agree with @elmoali‌ that we keep a spray for ds1 as well!

  • Seventh generation makes a baby sunblock that's rated zero on the ewg database. It smells really good and seems to work fine. It does take a bit of rubbing in, but I feel like all sunblocks do.

I also bought an aveeno baby face stick because I was worried about putting sunblock on LO's face, but I've found that if I apply it while he's breastfeeding, it's cake with either the stick or the liquid stuff.

We use babyganics. It came highly recommended. We originally used Aveeno but it gave DD a rash,

Thanks everyone and sorry if this was a repeat from a few weeks ago! I forgot to check if this was asked recently.
