Bottle Milk Question...

So FTM here and I've been breastfeeding and now trying to get LO used to the bottle for nights grandma comes and visits.
My question is: when I warm a bottle sometimes little girl falls asleep before I can give it to her lol. How long does the milk stay good for after it's been warmed? And can I re-heat it?

We only used it within the hour and never reheated. Same for formula.

  • My DH did all the nonboob feeding but breastmilk returned to the fridge after heat should be good at least 6 hours, which is what DH did. If after you heat it a second time and don't finish it that's when I say it's a no go. Kelly mom says USED milk can be reused as long as 2hrs, but you have feed it so should be good longer. I wouldn't be to worried about bacteria and such in the milk as studies how old brestmilk actually has less than fresh:

  • Thanks!! I just lightly reheated it for a second and she ate half...not to thrilled of not being on the boob haha.

I think it's okay until the next feeding.  Do a smell test just to be sure.
