I guess bouncer seat, but they serve different purposes.
I used the RNP as a portable bassinet so that DD could nap near me during the day. I could've tried to get her to sleep in her crib or somewhere else but I liked having her near me. I used the bouncer seat as a safe place to put her down awake when I needed 2 hands free to go to the bathroom, to cook something, or just to drink a cup of tea. When she was slightly older, she'd sit and observe the world from her bouncer seat.
@MrsDeo, that should work at first, but after a few months your baby likely will want to look around and see the world and may not be content on her back. But after a while they're ok on their tummies on a blanket on the floor for short periods of time, and by 4-6 months a lot of babies like the bumbo-type seats that help them sit up.
I used both for different things. The rock and play for naps and stuff down stairs. The bouncy seat is awesome to keep baby happy while I used the bathroom or showered since it fit right there in the bathroom with me.

They served different purposes for us. DD wouldn't sleep in her bouncer, it was more entertainment for her until she could sit up. The RNP she slept and napped in. I loved them both so I wouldn't choose. Why do you only want one?
I want to do the target deal where you get a swing and either the bouncer or the rock and play so I was trying to figure out which one to get. I think we're going to use a pack and play bassinet for sleeping. My daughter had both the bouncer and the rock and play and I guess liked them both the same. It was hard with her because she really wasn't happy unless I was holding her.
We used only the RNP for our first two. DS#1 slept in it for about 2 months. DS#2 only used it for naps (since we had a hard time transitioning DS#1 to his crib, we didn't want to go through that again). We didn't have a bouncer or swing, just the RNP.
This time around we have purchased a bouncer. I want something that is more upright where I can put the baby down for a second when I have to do things. I used the Boppy for that before, as a place to prop baby on the floor, and thought it would be convenient to have a bouncer for that this time.
I had one of each because I used them for different things. The RNP I used for naps and the bouncy chair I used when I was in the shower, or cooking dinner, something while he was awake. If I could only pick one I'd pick the RNP because he folded up and I could take it places with me when I traveled.
We had a bouncer last time and used it daily for close to a year. This time we bought at RNP too and I plan on using that for sleeping. Our bouncer sits pretty upright, but I know there are newer ones that can be reclined.
