I'm up for a 4 am feeding and googling infant development. I'm reading about high contrast, black and white toys, etc... for vision development. My LO is 4 weeks old and I do not own one single toy/thing like that. I've always heard you should have things like this, but I just don't. I feel like I'm just trying to get down the whole keeping this tiny human alive thing.
What about y'all? What are you doing as far as developmental play, etc... and how old are your babies? I'm feeling like I've wasted 4 weeks!! Ha!
Re: Visual stimulation/development
I totally understand where you're coming from though, we just want the best for them! You're doing good momma!
Yesterday I showed her a few old black and white photos of family, including the great-grandmas she is named after, and she seemed pretty intrigued.
She also likes anything to do with outside. We just stand around the porch where it's shaded and point stuff out to her.
I do play a baby Einstein video for him...not sure what he sees but he seems to respond to it because he will coo and kick his legs/move his arms at certain times throughout the video.
