I'm doing the old w.watchers Momentum plan. I found links online, so I'm doing it for free. Plus I started the Couch25K on Tues and I'm going to make an effort to go to the gym on Mondays whether I want to or not and even if it's only to do weights. Also once a week on my BMB I write up an Accountability Group thread and a few of us are on there and we encourage each other, and give advice.
I find that portioning goes a long way. I'm lazy, and if I have to get up to go get more cookies, I usually won't, so I just take 2 out and close the box and put it away. Same goes for cereal, I could eat the whole box in one sitting if I keep it out, but if I close it and put it away, I'm less likely to go for it.
Great tip! I noticed that I was eating almost no fruit, so I started pre-preparing smoothies for my breakfasts. I usually do a banana, some yogurt or tofu, a fruit juice, and some kind of frozen fruit. They're delicious and only about 300 calories. Plus it lets me sleep in an extra 20 minutes because I can grab them and drink them when I get to work, rather than taking time at home to make and eat breakfast.
My fitness pal helps. Really just anything where you write everything you eat down. I'm also using a meal planning site that's cheap and does my entire weekly plan within my calorie and macro goals. And the Happy Scale app (free). You weigh every day and it shows the trend
What is the meal planning site? That sounds really neat.
I've been back to using skinnytaste and making enough for leftovers to be lunch.
I did really well with MFP, but I'm having a hard time getting back into logging everything. I've stopped drinking sodas and bought low calorie fudge popsicles for my sweet tooth cravings.
Yes to the fudge popsicles! I also really like the outshine fruit bars. They're only 70 calories a piece and they're so good
Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, if so sorry.
Vitamin B12 speeds up metabolism. Without getting it directly injected via needle which is an option, you can purchase a dissolvable B12. I take one before each meal and let it dissolve under my tongue.

Well not exactly. That would be true only if you're deficient in B12 (ie deficiency might cause a slower metabolism). Taking more won't increase your metabolic rate though. B12 deficiency is not that common, usually seen in vegans or those lacking the factors needed for B12 absorption.
I'm doing a biggest loser challenge with my BMB. I run with Nike+ if anyone wants to be my friend! I'm doing their intermediate 5k program and this is the most I've ever run. I also do a couple of full body classes a week, or if nothing else fits my schedule, just do whatever run is scheduled and an upper or lower body weightlifting circuit.
I also cut out soda and try to limit as much fast junk food as possible.
On days I don't work out LO and I go for a walk around our neighborhood in his stroller.

There’s a lightningin your eyes I can't deny Then there’s me inside a sinkingboat running out of time Without you I'll never make it out alive But I know, yes, I know we’ll be alright
Been doing MFP. Not doing great but it's definitely making me more aware of how much I've been eating. Makes it easier to pass on a second helping of cereal once you realize what an actual serving size is. 3/4 cups. THAT'S IT???
Right now just trying to stick to actual serving sizes.
I eat organic poptarts instead of regular ones. That means I'm healthy, right?
I eat organic spaghetti-Os. Annie's brand. Thanks Publix!

Actual serving sizes kill me @NotSharknado I really need to get more protein in my diet I just don't know how. I read somewhere and I don't remember where so it may not be true, but women who are 30grams of protein first thing lost more weight.

Oh I wasn't aware. When I was working on losing some weight, I went to a dr that gave B12 injections. She explained it simply as a way to boost your metabolic rate. Im definitely no doctor so I took her word for it. It worked for me, I dropped about 10lbs in a month but I also changed my eating habits as well.

I remember reading a recent study about this, though I can't remember much of the details atm. But yes, they did find that including I think 25-30grams of protein at your first meal of the day resulted in higher weight loss.

Greek yogurt, keifer and bolthouse protein drinks all have a decent amount of protein. Also eggs, I think.

@PrivacyWanted 64.5g protein for those pancakes? What's the serving size? That's almost as much pro as some people need in a whole day! What's your pro goal if you don't mind my asking?
A lady at work makes those pancakes PW she loves them. I should do cottage cheese and fruit in the morning. That would be an easy thing to take and eat at work.
I workout in the morning and I've heard protein after a workout can help improve the fat burning effects. And the whole eat protein in the morning thing.
So every Sunday I make an egg casserole with peppers, spinach, and other random veggies I happen to have and a little feta. I put a few portions in the fridge, rest in the freezer and heat 1 up each morning to eat on the way to work.
Also agree with the suggestions not to buy crap, portion sizes, and using MFP or something to track eating.
I've been iffy with my eating so I gave myself 1 last chance this week to eat well without tracking. I didn't. It's back to MFP after the holiday weekend.
Shop the perimeter aisles. Don't even wander down the middle aisles with cookies, chips, sodas.
Low Fat is shit. It isn't healthy. Eat the real thing; just eat less.
Don't fall for traps like "all natural", "multi grain", etc. Those are good industry buzz words that make us think we are making good choice. They typically aren't.
Read a book on nutrition. Knowledge is key.
If you aren't working fruits and veggies in because of convenience, prep ahead of time. Portion out for each day.
Unsweetened tea. Use fruit to flavor. Drop the sodas. Club soda and fruit. I actually use the peel of the lines and lemons I used elsewhere.
Exercise. Even a small amount helps. Find a program you can do at home. Blogilates or Do You Yoga on You Tube is a good place for a quick workout.
Move. Walk. Take stairs not elevators when possible. Park at the back of the parking lot.
Before Reese I lost about 25 lbs on weight watchers. After being pregnant and her being born. I just can't seem to get back on track.
I will eat really healthy all day but then 4pm hits and I eat everything in sight. Plus now with hospital stays---I will eat well for a few weeks, and then gain it all back on hospital cafeteria food and lack of exercise. It sucks.
What I am trying to do is do it hardcore-I am hoping that when I go back into the hospital, my stomach would have shrunk slightly and if I mess up---it won't have TOO many after effects. The problem is boredom. Mostly I have been in the hospital with Reese by myself, so I just get SO bored and I can't leave the room that much to escape so I eat. This sucks. I wish I had a stomach vacuum
I have been on again and off again Weight Watchers too many times to count. I was able to successfully lose 34 lbs on it last year but have put all but 17 lbs of it back on. I've got 20 lbs to go to hit PP weight (and my "baby" is a preschooler). I'd love to lose that plus an additional 20 lbs. Doesn't help that I just ate my weight in Greek food..

To answer your question...yup. Totally healthy and acceptable.

Also turkey sausage. Ground beef, like in a breakfast burrito? What else?
