I go in on Tuesday for my baseline ultrasound and bloodwork.  Then I start Clomid the next day.  I am having a hard time believing this is all about to go down!  I will be on Clomid 150mg for 5 days (CD 5-9), then around CD 11, another U/S and labs and HCG trigger and then IUI.  I have no clue how I will ovulate, as I don't ovulate on my own.  Any input on what is typical/average?  

I am also nervous about how crazy I am going to be on Clomid.  I am also gonna be back on progesterone after the IUI, which was not fun the last time I took it.  I just started back on Weight Watchers, and I'm starting to think its gonna be a bust after next week, lol!

Femara 2.5mg + Estrace + HCG + IUI #3 Cancelled d/t no response
Moving on to IVF with ICSI after break to lose weight.

    Me: +35 DH: +35
    TTC: Since January 2013 
    DX: PCOS. Severe Endometriosis, Unicornuate Uterus w/only left tube and left ovary, Pedunculated fibroid (on the outside of uterus) and Anovulation. All conditions diagnosed 8/13
    TX: Metformin
    DH DX: MFI - low morphology, low motility
    Ultrasound shows both kidneys in spite of UU. 
    HSG showed clear tube on the left side. 
    Lap Surgery performed 1/9/14 to remove fibroid and endo (Stage 3)
    • IUI# 1 June 2014 started 100 mg of Clomid - 7dpiui Progesterone: 13: BFN
    • IUI#2  July 2014 started 100 mg of Clomid - 7dpiui Progesterone: 5.75: BFN
    • Natural Cycle - so shocked to be in 2WW - 7dpo Progesterone: 15.5: BFN
    • Working with new RE starting injectables in late August.
    • IUI #3 August 2014  w/ Menopur: BFN
    • Finally ovulating on my own!!
    Waiting to start IVF hopefully

    I get crazyish on 50mg of clomid. Anger ismy biggest emotion on it usually I am super nice and happy but clomid week isnt fun

    Good luck! What do you mean by asking how you will ovulate?

    Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013. 

    11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good. 

    12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

    12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

    I meant how long it takes for ovulation to happen (if it is going to happen) after clomid.

    My RE said I should ovulate 5-10 days after the last pill. I'm starting clomid from cd 5-9, but I am going to start using OPKs on cd 12.
    Me: +35 DH: +35

    With the trigger it is usually approximately after 36 hours. My IUIs were always scheduled for 36 hours after I gave my self the Ovidrel. I would have an u/s before IUI and never had ovulated yet. Everyone is different I'm sure though.

    You're starting at 150mg for your first ever Clomid cycle?! That seems really high. I've seen people over-stimulate on 50mg, which is the typical starting dose....

    With Clomid I have ovulated between CD21-26, but I'm not responding well, and most people ovulate earlier in their cycle.

    This. 150mg is a high dose and I've never heard of anyone starting on a dose that high. The usual beginning dose is 50mg. Did your RE say why you were being started on a dose that high? Clomid is known to sometimes have negative effects on lining as well as possibly over stimming so usually women are started on a low dose and increased as needed.

    Me (35) no known issues DH (37) MFI. TTC 21 months (24 cycles)
    Dx MFI with low to normal count, low motility, morphology 3%
    HSG normal, ultrasound and labs on me all normal. 

    1 cycle of Clomid 50mg and TI, unmonitored by OBGYN= BFN
    1 cycle of Clomid 50mg and IUI, unmonitored by OBGYN= BFN
    Started seeing an RE!!
    2 more cycles of clomid 50mg (great response), with IUI and Pregnyl trigger (4.8-8 mil good ones after wash) = all BFN
    1 cycle of clomid 50mg (3-7) followed by Follistim 75iu (7-11) + IUI = BFN
    December 2013 DH saw urologist and is taking Anastrozole, CoQ10, and L-Carnitine
    IUI #5 natural cycle (needed a med break) = BFN
    IUI #6 Follistim 75iu (CD3-10) + Pregnyl (CD11) + IUI (final count after wash 300K) = BFN
    IUI #7 Follistim 75iu (CD3-9) + Pregnyl (CD11) + IUI on 2/20 (post wash count 12.5 million)= BFN
    IUI cancelled (DH OOT) Clomid 50mg (CD3-7) 1 follicle +(not well timed) TI = BFN
    IUI #8 and last one!! Clomid 100mg (CD3-7) +OPK before US + IUI 4/17 (post wash 8.5 mil)= BFN

    Pre-IVF testing complete! SHG great and measurements taken! Labs for infectious diseases completed, FSH (5.4), TSH (1.6), Prolactin (11), AMH (2.6), Estradiol (40).

    Started BCP 5/29 and Lupron 6/11 prep for IVF #1! Started follistim 225u/day on 6/28. Monitoring on 7/2 >15 follicles measuring 11-14, E2 758. Monitoring on 7/5 all ready to go!! Great follicle sizes and lining is at 9. Tigger 7/5, ER 7/7 16R 9M 3F. Stimmed too fast in just 7 days. 7/10 3dt of 2 8-cell grade 2 & 4. 7/14 P4 >60.
    Holy crap BFP!!!
    Beta #1 (14dpo) 7/21 112 Beta #2 (16dpo) 7/23 286 a Beta #3 (18dpo) 7/25 761 Beta #4 (21dpo) 2631!!! Hold on tight little embies!!      First Ultrasound 8/7- 1 perfect little bean with a beating heart 117bpm!! EDD 3/30.
    Second ultrasound 9/2 Little bean measuring a few days ahead with a heart rate of 161!

    150mg does seems high for your first round. Is there a reason they decided to start you so high? I take 200mg a day cd 3-7 but I have stepped up gradually over several cycles. I usually ovulate somewhere from cd 12-15.

    As for side effects, I can almost guarantee that at that dosage you'll have some crazy hot flashes and night sweats. With 200mg I get pretty significant blurred vision. I'd recommend taking your pills at night. Good luck to you!

    Although I've only taken up to 100 mg of clomid it really isn't that bad. Sometimes around the 3rd or 4th day I get a little emotional or "crazy". I do however get terrible headaches with clomid and sometimes itchy skin!

    I can't give any Clomid info but wanted to wish you lots of luck!!

    Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013

    DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help

    Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube

    April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if

    it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF

    June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!

    June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue

    is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA  in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.

    This. I over responded on 50 mg, so I'd be nervous about starting at that high of dose. Have you used clomid in the past or had a clomid challenge test? My midcycle u/s is usually CD 12 (after taking clomid CD 3-7), and then I'll trigger that night and IUI CD 14. Good luck!
    Sorry for the late response, ladies.  I, honestly, assumed it was because of my weight.  I will ask tomorrow when I go in for my ultrasound and bloodwork.  I know he put me on a higher dose of promethium than most people get, but it was effective in about 3 days after the last pill.  In comparison, when my OB put me on Provera, and it was a normal dose most people get, I took 2 weeks to get AF.  So while I haven't taken Clomid before, and I do know this is not typical to start at this high of a dose, I do believe my weight is the reasoning.
