DH Gone Near 34 Weeks Possibly - WWYD?

My DH was thinking of going to see BIL and SIL who live about a 5 hour drive from here to help put together a gift for our nephew. Just spoke with SIL and I guess she'd really like for the two brothers to get to hang out and whatnot, just for a day. We're busy pretty much every weekend until I'm 34 weeks, and I'm currently 31. She thought he could take a day off work maybe instead, but I don't like that either really since he's taking a day off next week already.

Anyways, I'm super uncomfortable with him going away, especially at 34ish weeks. I also cannot take care of DD on my own and our nanny has weekends off. What would you guys do in this situation, let DH go for the day?

    Maybe your h and sil could switch places for the day or your h could take dd along?

    I definitely wouldn't be comfortable with it at 34 weeks. Especially since it's so far away. If it was an hour away, then maybe I could see it. Too close to the end to risk it, in my opinion!!

    W my singleton, H had an OOT job interview when I was 37w. He was to be gone for 24hrs - Fri night to Sat night. Guess when I went into labor? 3am Sat morning. H had to buy a one-way ticket home at 6am at the airport.

    Given that history, I wouldn't be comfortable. I also had the twins at 34w, so there's that.

    All that being said, I had an OOT wedding at 35+w and I waffled on that for a while. Obvs, I didn't go bc babies were in the NICU, but I did wait and see for quite a while.

    So, my DH works OOT Mon-Thurs every week.  I'm uncomfortable with him traveling now, but think we will OK for the next two weeks where he is only traveling Tues-Thurs.  Then when I'm 34 weeks, he may go for one overnight.  His company will pay for him to take the earliest possible flight home in an emergency, so that is somewhat comforting.  I haven't had any issues so far and everything has looked great.  I also am having weekly ultrasounds, so that gives me some hope that I will have some notice if something is going on.  Who knows though.  I'm not not excited that he is traveling, but it's his job.  I'm also at the point where DS is really difficult for me to care for by myself.  

    I think if it's just to visit family, they should be understanding why it's not a good time for him to come visit.  It was also make me more uncomfortable to there to be an emergency and him to have to drive 5 hours home.  Knowing how husbands are he would be in a hurry and really distracted the whole time.
