I can't believe I'm about to be in 3rd tri!! It seems like time has flown by and drug by at the same time. The shower was good, the hostesses did a great job and we got lots of goodies. However, it was very awkward. Most of my family is very reserved and I wasn't feeling well so it was a quiet affair. The class was great and so worth it! I think it will help DH & I be more confident in baby care. Today I met the pedi my OB recommended and I really liked him. I think his personality and style of care is a good fit for me. My next OB appt is Friday and they'll be doing a cervical check. I'm hoping I get the u/s tech who likes to take a peak at the babies. I haven't seen them since May 5th and really want to see how much they've grown! If not, I'll have to wait till June 3rd to see them again. I've been spoiled with all the ultrasounds I've had!

QOTW: The biggest thing I've accomplished is buying and getting all the nursery furniture assembled. Now I just need to figure out the optimal placement of the dresser, changing table and 2 cribs. I'd like to have a rocker, but I'm not sure I can squeeze one in. The nursery is currently a disaster zone. We put all the shower gifts in there and I attempted to sort through everything, but I think I made a bigger mess. I've headed back in there a few times to try to organize, but ended up looking around and then walking right back out! I need my semi-OCD sister to come help!!

I realized this morning that I need to get my own update up here!

So this week I am 26w4d...I can hardly believe it, the shower is in 2 1/2 weeks and I am shamelessly stalking my registry. I somehow find registry stalking relaxing. Health wise, last week was crazy. I have been having an issue with my nipple, so the OB had me come in. They ended up doing my regular appointment and the 1 hr gtt, but I was totally stressed out and I failed but 10 points. I scheduled the 3 hr for Friday and our dog got sick on Wednesday night (diarrhea everywhere all night long) so after two not so good nights I took the 3 hr. I was 6 points over on the 1hr, but but the second hr I was lower than I needed to be for the 3hr, so I passed, thank goodness! But I am anemic...right now they are not going to treat the anemia because the OB that I had for the test (I don't normally see her, but I did b/c of the last minute nipple thing) doesn't treat anemia unless you fall to a critically low level. I am grateful to avoid the constipation of iron pills, but I will be eating a ton of spinach and red meat...maybe I can fix it with diet. As for my weird nipple issue, it isn't as painful anymore, but it is completely scabbed over now. There is no way that is normal, but at least I am no longer grabbing my breast in public due to sudden pain! I am starting to fear that DH is never going to want to touch my breasts again after this baby stuff is over. He absolutely refuses to touch the baby bump because it freaks him out that there is a person in there.

As for everything else...well, Otis, our dog, is better. He is the most expensive free dog ever, but we love him. I was really scared when we took him to the vet, but they were able to give him some meds and he is feeling so much better now! Also, it looks like after a brief time back in intubation, they have once again removed that for my uncle. They are hoping to move him out of the ICU and into a facility that will do daily physical therapy by the weekend. He still has quite a bit of swelling, but we are hoping that he can continue to avoid surgery. And the only other news is that my summer job (I work at a college, so summers are off and unpaid may have fallen through. I was working on a summer camp, but we haven't gotten many applications so the camp might not run. This would mean two extra months of no pay and I feel I should bring something in, but I can't figure out what place will hire someone for 2.5 months. I am totally open to suggestions!

QOTW: the biggest thing I have done is purchase the crib, but it isn't together yet...at the end of this week though, the room will be completely cleaned out, so that is good. The biggest thing I feel I still have left is setting everything up...and I plan on doing that after the shower.

Hi Everyone. Not much to report here. Yay for V-day!

We actually haven't bought the crib or anything else. I have finished the better part of the registry. Most other baby-related things are on hold until I can figure out if I will have a job come June 1st- part of our business is being acquired but we have just been informed that the part I work in will not; it's very complicated, but basically I have to figure out how to set up and run a company in the next 10 days. In 3 months my duties have gone from seeing patients, to seeing patients and doing accounting, to now seeing patients, doing accounting, doing payroll and HR. I am overwhelmed with life, so nursery will have to wait. I do plan on signing up for at least the childbirth class at the hospital, though the Bradley class I wanted to take may not happen.

Hi, ladies! 20w with twins on Friday. I have my next appointment next Tuesday, so hopefully I'll be able to update next week with a clear anatomy scan and the sexes! As of right now, we don't know if it's two boys or a boy and a girl. Don't really care either way, but I think team purple would take some of the pressure off to ever have to do this again.

I've been looking for daycare for the twins. I don't plan on going back to work until January (taking 12 weeks of leave) but finding daycare is tough! and expensive! The lady we really wanted lives four houses down from us (perfect!!!) and is reasonably priced (perfect again!) but she said the idea of twins overwhelmed her and she couldn't imagine keeping two babies at one time...... in her words, "I just don't think I'll be able to give them the care and attention they need." UGH! Seriously???

Then my MIL and her partner agreed to keep the twins one day a week, but she asked if she could just keep one twin at a time. No. Just no. That is no help at all and not something we want to do. I think we'll just have to "train" her on twin care and make sure that she is comfortable with keeping them and then she'll be fine. Still frustrating....

Congrats to all those moving on to 3rd tri!

Update: Only 12 more days until our next appointment. April 24-June 2nd has been a long stretch!

We borrowed a sound recorder from a friend and spent part of our weekend recording mh and I reading some of our favorite kids stories (after a quick trip to the public library). The files are mp3 and so we are hoping our GC will be able to play them for Squirt in a couple of weeks on her iPhone.

Hopefully this doesn't sound too crazy....

On other fronts, I was going through another IVF in order to freeze all for possible siblings. After 14 days of stimming, I only had two follicles so we got cancelled. We are trying again in July with our original (and previously successful) protocol. Waiting for my body to get back to normal...

QOTW: We have put together a changing table and purchase our travel system last week from Kohl's for 50% off! June's to do list includes a trip to IKEA to get the crib.

Thanks for a great check-in @Allison7‌ - you always do such an awesome job! Congrats on moving on to the third trimester soon!! Sorry I can't volunteer to take over but I already do the 2IF check in and have a hard enough time remembering to post that one every week!

Things are going well with me! I have started to feel the baby move which is such a relief and it was also good to hear the heartbeat at the OB appt last week! The anatomy scan is this coming Monday (Memorial Day) and I am anxiously awaiting that!

The QOTW has made me realize we have alot to do before LO arrives! We literally have not done anything yet! We have a 21 month old son and have kept all of his things. We will need to get the room that we currently use as our office ready for the nursery and also need to buy a convertible crib for Jeffrey so that LO can use his crib (Jeffrey sleeps so well in a crib that we don't want to transition to a toddler bed yet).

Hello! I would love to be added. I just graduated from the first Tri check-in and today I am 14 weeks! My EDD is Nov 19th, and we are blessed with a sweet baby girl.

This week has been a little rough, I had been getting sonos every 2 weeks and now I don't get those anymore. I have been a little panicy cause I dont have any symptoms anymore (which I know is normal for the 2nd tri) I have alot of stretching (at least that is what I hope it is), and so that is worring me more than it probably should. But I am trying to stay calm and wait patiently for my doppler.

QOTW: I know how I want to do the nursery, but DH and I both agreed to wait until 20 weeks but I want to get started soo bad! This weekend we are telling DH's family the gender, and then (hopefully) mine soon after. I cannot wait for everyone to know we are having a girl.

I know I am new to the group but I will be happy to take over check-ins. I dont know everyone but I am more than willing to try. Just let me know if you ladies want me to do it.

25 weeks today! Gosh, time flies. Took my 1-hr glucose challenge yesterday and asked them not to call me until next Tuesday with results, since we are going on our babymoon this weekend

Baby is measuring on-track and doc is happy, so I'm happy

QOTW: I feel like we've done very little so far - IF-brain plus Jewish superstition. We do have a crib from a friend if I can just arrange to pick it up. What's left is pretty much everything. MIL wants to get us a dresser/changing table. My folks will probably spring for the car seats (one for each car). We aren't really planning to decorate the nursery, but we do want to get a glider.

Hi everyone! I'm 16w1d now and my next appointment is Friday, I'm a little nervous because it doesn't seem like my belly has grown at all in the past week or so, it almost looked smaller yesterday. And my symptoms are almost gone. I'm hoping it's just 1st tri bloat finally going away, but will feel much better if the appointment goes well. I'll also schedule my A/S on Friday while I'm there.

I've accomplished pretty much nothing, I refused to buy anything before 2nd tri and still refuse to buy anything significant or start on the nursery until after the A/S. So I've bought 1 sleeper, and have started to look into daycare. That's about it, so I have pretty much everything left to do!

Hi ladies! I can't believe I'm moving onto the 3rd trimester next week, the later part of this pregnancy is flying by so incredibly fast, it's crazy! @Allison7‌, thank you so much for running such a fantastic check in! I went in for my GTT test on Monday and am still waiting for the results, hopefully they come in today! For other appointments, I have my last cervical check on Friday and a growth scan at the same time. They stop checking my cervix at 28 so I'm a little nervous about not having another scan for another 4 weeks but I'm trying to hold tight to the high likelihood of a good outcome once we hit 28 weeks. QOTW: The nursery is definitely the biggest thing we've done to date. It's all painted and the furniture is assembled and set up where we want it, we just have to hang the pictures on the walls this weekend and wash some baby clothes and then just await their arrival!

Allison7 - thanks for being a great leader!!! You've been awesome.   YGPM as well.

Today we are 17 weeks! I am so pumped to see the time just ticking by as we wait for that miraculous "V-day"....     I have hit a honeymoon day here in my body and am thoroughly enjoying not being sore or totally missing my energy and I'm getting a lot done at work for once.

We DID get our MFM appointment, so that's next week. They're giving us an ultrasound there (they like to do their own in that clinic), so I'm expecting to get a better view of the babies on their fancy machine.

I just got an email that the teenage daughter of one of our friends may be interested in helping us out with house and baby-related things in the fall when I'm home.   She's in High School, and only 15, so it would be limited help after school hours and only when I'm home - but I'm so happy to have that potential to hopefully get to know her a bit better, AND to have someone from our community of people who may become a babysitter when the babies are older who will get to know them from the beginning.

QOTW:   We a day last weekend cleaning out or baby room some more and moving furniture around.   My mom is actually going to order our cribs this week I think, so we'll have a ton of stuff ready pretty early.   I am hoping to get a crib set up relatively early so we can start teaching the cat that it's NOT okay for her to be in it at all.   We have two pets so getting them prepared has been part of the process... otherwise, I think that may be the last piece we do until our Showers in June and July....

I'm 27w2days, so this will be my last week checking into the 2nd tri. I can't believe I'll be in the 3rd trimester so soon. No new appointments, but our little guy is moving a ton! I think he's doing flips inside of me and I can see my stomach move. We took a baby care class this past weekend and it was very informative. Learned how to swaddle, use the mucus sucker thing, best way to cut nails etc. I've experienced some pretty terrible leg cramps, in both my hamstring and calf. I'm going to stretch more often at night and introduce coconut water (in addition to a banana everyday) to see if that helps.

QOTW: What is the biggest baby related thing you have accomplished so far? Probably the biggest baby thing is finding the daycare and pediatrician.

What is the biggest baby related thing still on your to-do list? We still need to do the nursery, the wallpaper is 99% removed, now we need to fix the walls, paint, and assemble the furniture.

Thanks to @allison7 for the great check in. @Ashris13-If you need any help or just need a break let me know. I was going to offer to help out, but you beat me to it.

As for me everything is going well here. Nothing new to report. Next appointment is on 6/5 and its just a 24 week appointment, nothing special. LO has been kicking away the last few days, its pretty cool to be feeling it so well. People who don't know me are now noticing my pregnancy. I feel like I am big already (I've gained 15lbs since BFP) but most people say I am only carrying it in the front. We did decide we will get a 3D ultrasound done between 28-30 weeks so still some time to figure out where.

QOTW: What is the biggest baby related thing you have accomplished so far? We haven't gotten anything done unless you count getting our registries done. What is the biggest baby related thing still on your to-do list? Everything. We got a suggestion to not buy anything until our shower but then my friend told me she isn't planning to have my shower till 1 month before my due date. Plus my FIL is making our crib and dresser so I am starting to think we may need to buy something just to have it in case LO shows up early. (In Laws live in MI and we aren't expecting to see them until after LO is born). Gosh looking at what you guys have done makes me feel like a real slacker.

I am 24 weeks 2 days so past V-day! I was just laying down feeling her kick away... it's still so amazing to me. I can't believe there is a little one in there. I have an OB appointment tomorrow. Nothing exciting. High BP + GD = High Risk which means I feel like I'm constantly at my OB. Just not looking forward to when he bumps me up to 2x a week.

QOTW: Our biggest accomplishment has to be the nursery. We was just waiting on our glider that should be here next week and then I need some wall décor up on the walls and then I think we just need the baby. I'm a FTM so I really have no idea. The nursery seems like the biggest project so nothing really left on our to-do list.

I will be 18weeks tomorrow. No real developments this week. Thought I may have felt baby move but unsure. I felt it twice before once at like week 12 when u/s tech made baby move for pics. And same feeling at 14 or 15 weeks. Different feeling this time but may just be gas. My next appointment (basic check up)is next Friday. We have anatomy scan 6/5. I can't wait!

QOTW:
Biggest thing I've done is look into birthing classes at the hospital, although I didn't sign up yet. Biggest thing to do is EVERYTHING! Lol. We are waiting for anatomy scan to do registry and my FIL will be coming mid to end of June to redo the drywall in the nursery. Once the room is ready I'll get the furniture.

@allison7 thanks for all of the great check-ins and good luck in 3rd tri!

AFM our anatomy scan went great and we are 19w 5d. It was pretty funny how the tech told us what we were looking at on the first baby, and on the second we asked her questions as she looked at things. We were practically calling out the things she was looking for as she was doing it. The AS totally became a game! Baby B looks perfect, Baby A has an echogenic intracardiac focus. Our OB and one of our very good friends who is an OB has both assured us that we shouldn't worry, as neither of them have seen an issue with just that one soft marker. So we are writing it off.

QOTW: Biggest things we've done: figured out cribs, car seats, and a stroller. Biggest thing we still have to do: figure out where we are living after June!

@Allison7, thanks for doing such great check-in and congrats on entering the third tri! I have same issues with iron pills - I've been having "green monsters" every morning: blend a ton of spinach with milk, then add banana, then I add frozen mixed berries. You can't taste the spinach at all. I'm not sure if it's as effective as iron pills, but it helps me feel like I'm doing something.

@Lincoln97 - love that you recorded stories for your GC - that's awesome!

I'm 25 and 2 days. Feeling good but feeling large. My shower was smallish but really great. My sister set up the cutest craft - she had these iron on fabric swatches and made patterns for people to cut out shapes from them - like hearts, birds, butterflies, even one of our dog. Then she ironed them on onesies and bibs. People were very generous and we have all the major things we need (at least for first few months) except the crib mattresses. An even bigger gift was my best friend coming from across the country and spending the day helping me and DH set up the nursery. She and DH put together the two cribs and we rearranged the nursery, washed and organized all the clothes, set up the rock n plays, etc. It's close to looking like a real nursery. We do need to work on the art

Hi, I'd like to join this check in - yay for being in second tri!

My EDD is 11-17 and I'm 14wk 2days with 1 bean. My next midwife appointment is in 2 weeks and I don't go in for the A/S until mid July. We are definitely finding out the sex if we can at that time.

QOTW: My only big accomplish so far has been telling work & friends our news. It seems like everyone now has a story to tell about someone they know who went through IF and then eventually got a surprise BFP. I think that's going to get old, but am glad no one has said anything rude or asked intrusive questions (yet). I think we will start getting more prepared after the A/S and we are getting closer to this feeling more real.

I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow. I've been on the road for the last week, and didn't sleep well the last 2 nights. Thought I was coming down with a cold, but I think it might have been allergies. . .we shall see. Really nothing new to report. . .just waiting for our A/S on June 20th, which seems like forever.

QOTW: We were going to wait until after our a/s before setting up the registry. So really no progress. However, some of our friends have started giving us some of their baby stuff - activity center, a moby baby wrap, baby papasan and some other random stuff for the car. My cousins are going to bring us their crib, so one crib will be taken care of. My big goals before the a/s is to research daycare centers, which is tough because we aren't exactly sure when I'll be going back to work (I use to commute 3 hrs one way. . .not possible with twins coming) and sign up for classes at the hospital.

Hi ladies! 21w tomorrow.....can't believe it! I have my monthly OB appt on Tuesday and the 2nd part of a/s to look at Cadien's heart since he refused to flip over the first time:) we had a 3d scan scheduled but I canceled it....as much as we want to see him, the risk of so many u/s outweighed the want. He'll be here soon enough

QOTW: @allison7 the biggest accomplishment would be the registry... And it's stressing me out. I only registered for the big stuff because my immediate family took care of all the "little stuff" and I'm freaking that no one will want to spend money on our big things and I'll get stuck with random shit that I'll have to return (hopefully with gift receipts). Ugh! Biggest thing still needing to get done is the nursery!! It's currently DH room (all his clothes are in there and it's storage too. I haven't picked out colors, bedding or anything

it seems so overwhelming!!

Feeling great today (25w1d). LO's kicking away, and had my first prenatal massage last night thanks to DH's thoughtful gift to me on Mother's Day. So amazing. I go in for my monthly checkup and glucose test on Tuesday, so that'll be fun. I'm super curious to see how I do, and if all my sugar cravings have affected anything.

QOTW: Clearing out the baby's room and making all the big decisions on baby gear seems like the biggest stuff so far. This weekend, DH and I are going to get some things together in LO's room, and I'm going to sew some curtains. Pretty geeked up about getting crafty for our own baby for the very first time!

@Ashris13 - I remember the transition between 1st and 2nd tri as being a bit maddening, too. Symptoms faded and I couldn't feel baby kicking, really. And the longer stretches between u/s? Crazy making for sure. But things will pick up soon enough.

Thanks for adding me! 16 weeks - feels great! Starting to feel what I think is baby, 'bubbles' seem to happen pretty reliably when I sneeze Off to my regular Dr. appt in a couple of hours.

QOTW: Biggest accomplishment was actually making this little Nacho Not having the office cleared out so we can truly start on the nursery is driving me crazy, but DH is finally off work this weekend so I'm hoping!!!

Once again, I'm really late to this check in. But in my defense I was actually doing work on Tuesday instead of bumping Thanks @Allison7 for a good check in!

I'm 25w6d today and feeling LO move more regularly now. DH felt him for the first time this week and immediately pulled his hand back, almost like he had been burned! He thought it was weird. Not sure he'll do it again, maybe. I think the curiosity will get to him. I did a cystic fibrosis test and results are all clear (just checking to see if I'm a carrier). I just wanted to know so I could be prepared financially and with whatever equipment might be needed to clear LO's lungs. But all clear, so I don't have to worry about it.

QOTW: What is the biggest baby related thing you have accomplished so far? We got the crib, changing table and a rocker - now just have to put them all together. I fully expect DH to be cursing up a storm as he does it. He has very little patience when putting things together.

What is the biggest baby related thing still on your to-do list? Finish putting stuff on my registry! Shower is in a month and invites are probably going out this weekend. I know I'm missing small stuff, but I feel like I'm missing the big stuff too. Ugh.

Hi everyone I'm 17 weeks this week. My problem I was having a week ago finally resolved so happy about that other then that we have a baby check in appt on June 10th and then on June 11th we have the exciting sex reveal anatomy scan of our little one. Qotw: We are starting to work in the nursery we've picked out hardwood flooring for the nursery which is going to be installed in a couple of weeks and after we find out what we're having we are going to get painters in to paint the nursery. I can't wait to start decorating our little ones room.

I can't believe this is my last 2nd tri checkin and I will actually be in the 3rd tri tomorrow...it still doesn't seem real at all! Time is flying especially with the end of the school year approaching next week and I will be finishing up grad school this summer, it makes it go even faster!! I had my gtt done last Thursday and they said no news is good news, so I haven't heard anything so I'm assuming everything looked good which is great! We have our 3d u/s in 2 weeks along with our baby shower and I am beyond excited! My work threw me a surprise shower this week at school and I couldn't believe it and was overcome with emotions! I find myself driving sometimes and thinking about thanking people at the shower and just start crying because I have dreamed about this for so long and can't believe it's actually real now. @allison7...thank you for being such an amazing checkin leader!

QOTW: The biggest accomplishment we have made so far is painting the nursery and getting it set up. We have basic things left to do but we'll add those after the shower and when we see what we get. I still need to wash everything.

Left to do: I have a pedi in mind but haven't officially chosen one yet. I also plan to do hypnobabies so really need to get started on that!
