From similac sensitive to similac alimentum????

So my 4 week old is really constipated.....possible reflux but mostly concerned with pooping issue.... Pop at dr office finally listened to all my concerns (dr kept telling me all his symptoms were normal baby issued) and she had me switch him to similac alimentum. I gave baby 4oz of new formula and she continued to burp, pass gas and vomit in excess for 3 hours all while still grunting cuz he needed to poop and screaming for food cuz he was hungry.....gave him the similac sensitive again at the next 3 feedings and he is now eating about 2 oz every 2 hours instead of 4oz every 3-4 hours....poor thing is so stuffed.... I am just so upset and have no idea what to do now :(

We had the dr put our little one on .25 cc of Zantac twice a day and it made a world of a difference with the spit up and happiness :) no symptoms with that med either!!!

Try mixing the two. The Similac Sensitive is made with starch so it is thicker and they don't spit it up as often. The Alimentum is really broken down so they process it easier and don't get gassy and constipated. It sounds like your LO is having one extreme to the other (aside from constipation).
ETA: have you tried Enfamil Gentlease? It is basically the same thing as Similac Sensitive minus the starch so they don't get constipated as easily. It also helps with gas and fussiness.
