  • At least they're inside. My neighbor starts mowing his lawn at 8 and usually doesn't end until around 10. He has a big lawn tractor so it's really loud. They don't have kids so I don't think they understand how rude they're being. The guy gets home at 5. I don't understand why he can't start it during daylight hours. He also likes to mow really early on weekends.

  • Get used to it.  I had to.  My DS is now 13 and I come from a very large and very LOUD family.  My son was a few weeks old when I moved home with my parents for support.  I was only 20 at the time.  Anyhow, they had a dog that barked EVERY TIME the front door opened, etc.  The TV was always up loud when my grandmother was over and his cradle was situated in the family in a spot that he'd be seen/heard at anytime.  Granted, he was in the direct line of all the noise.  He'd sleep right through it.

Even now, at 13, he could be passed out on the couch and I can vacuum with out him waking up.  It's a good thing to have, but also a bad thing too...god forbid an emergency happens.

  • Sorry for the situation you're in, sounds like it sucks pretty bad.

  • I usually don't have those thoughts about the neighbors' kids until it is 11:00 pm and they are screaming and running around outside. My son is a pretty sound sleeper, but when he was younger in was always worried he would wake up.

  • It's the first time it's ever happened I don't know what got into them last night!!! My LO sleeps so well but I kept worrying they would wake her.
  • That's why I use a loud air purifier in my room and DD's. drowns out all sound
  • Kids should be spanked, that is why the world is full of brats.

I'm not exactly anti-spanking, depending on the situation, and as a last resort, but we still try to avoid it.

However, spanking is not one in the same with appropriate discipline and boundaries.

Actually it's not. Not even close. Statements like this make me stabby.

I guess when your special little baby is older and happily playing at 8:30 that makes her a "brat". Unless you live in some alternate universe 8:30 is not the noise curfew anywhere. By the way sounds like you live in an apartment or townhouse, if you don't want to be surrounded by noises move into a single family home.

  • It might just be that they're momma is too tired too lol. I've worried how my neighbors felt about my two year old screaming at night or jumping up and down (we lived upstairs in an apartment at the time). Mostly I was too tired to stop him and he wasn't hurting anything (or himself) in our house. Some days I was just waiting for a knock on the door. I bet if you had a short and friendly conversation about an instance their children woke your baby and ended sort of laughing but with enough undertone they would be more conscious of it and still be friendly neighbors. Or go best those kids ass. I've had that same feeling too ;) lol
