Workout fail

Tried to do a sit-up today.... Epic fail! Looks like it's going to be crunches for awhile :( anyone else totally not used to the after baby/pregnancy body?

Re: Workout fail

  • I just hate how out of shape I am in general! How a walk, however long, tires me out!!

  • I worked out a lot prepregnancy & was able to get back fairly easy & was surprised. However, my core (csection) & my running is shot. I had run 4 halfs and 1 full marathon within the year of getting pregnant (& a half while 4mths pregnant). I attempted jogging the other day & had to push myself to make it through 5min!!! Ugh I have so much work to do, plus still need to lose 40lbs so I feel so heavy & jiggly when running

I actually feel awesome right now because starting in the second tri I lost the ability to even walk up a half flight of stairs without getting winded. So in my mind I'm doing great! Haha. I do miss my stomach from prepregnancy though. I used to be able to poke my stomach and feel abs. Now I poke it and I feel like I could reach my organs if I prodded enough. Where did those muscles disappear to???

  • @Ooopsbaby14‌ - I HAAATE doing planks, but they are so effective to work your core! I should get back to them...
  • My first few attempts at yoga were pitiful but I'm slowly getting back into it. My leftover muffin too gets in the way though..

I can't do a push-up cuz my core is so weak! Planking has been awesome at helping get it stronger again.
Just me, my husband and our two dogs for now; Natural pregnancy 5/2011, mc @ 9 weeks 7/2011; IVF 5/2012, 5 eggs retrieved none fertilized; Natural pregnancy 9/2012, mc @ 10weeks 11/2012; Natural pregnancy 7/2013, due 4/2014
  • I've been running twice, luckily I kept at it while pregnant up till 6 months then I switched to hiking, so the cardio part stayed somewhat in shape. I managed to run for an hour but it was so slow! It also feels unnatural, I guess just seems really hard to pick the feet up high enough, stupid csection! All that jiggly stuff sure is annoying too, the stomach I can handle but the thigh rubbing & boob bouncing is terrible!
  • Aren't crunches better than situps anyway?  I'm not even allowed to work on my ab region yet (boo!) due to my c-section.

I went walking with a friend of mine who has a 3.5 month old.  She takes her kid to like mommy and me pilates and is in awesome shape already.  I was huffing and puffing trying to keep up. :(
  • It's the piles that are killing me!! I can't do any form of exercise it feels like the world is falling out my behind! Might try the plank thou
  • I'd love to do planks but for some reason they hurt me today. Guess I have to build up that core strength again...

  • I've been so disgusted with how out of shape I am I really have to keep telling myself- you just had a baby... You just had a baby... 9 months on nine months off- ha! My core is so weak, too. I definitely have to add planks to my workouts. I haven't been bumping regularly- was the fit mom Friday check-in restarted?

  • @patunia7321‌ I feel the same way. I keep wondering why my former in shape and athletic body won't drop these pounds and I keep reminding myself that it has only been 6 weeks, and I'm not eating anywhere near as clean as I used to. I can't wait to get back in a routine.
