Same here, I didn't get it until 3rd tri last time, and only when I bent over or laid down. It's already started this time, and I get it while sitting/standing too.

Non-pregnant me doesn't get heartburn at all; I actually had to have DH tell me what it was! When I was pregnant with DS, I was complaining "my throat feels weird, it feels like I drank hard alcohol", and DH said "um, that's called heartburn".

  • @abbyful‌ same here. Almost no heartburn when I'm not pregnant and now it hits even if I'm sitting/stranding/lying down anything. So far the tums has been working wonders.
  • I feel like I have heartburn all the time. I got it the other day after drinking a Yoohoo, and I was a few bites into my fazoli's dinner date with DH when it hit. I had to beg to stop to get tums at the grocery store bc I couldn't make it home.
  • You should try almond milk (unsweetened tastes best I think). An 8oz glass has 40% of your RDA of calcium so it's bunches better at knocking acid reflux on the head than dirinking milk. Plus its pretty delicious!

  • I had HORRIBLE heartburn the last couple days! It was a side effect of meds I had to take; boy am I glad to be done with them. My last dose was at 3:30am yesterday; and around 6:00 last night it finally started easing off. Now my throat is sore, like I've been punched. I had never experienced that before! It was awful; I totally feel for you all that get it normally. I pray I don't have to experience that ever again.....

I had awful heartburn with DS.  I kept tums everywhere - in my purse, at work, my nightstand....etc.  It's miserable!  I have a bottle of tums ready in my purse now, but no heartburn yet.  Hopefully it holds off for a while!

  • I have had heartburn later at night right after dinner that lasts until I can fall asleep. I found that if I watch what I eat then I don't get it as often but there are still days that I get it for no reason. Tums have been my friend!!
  • Is it totally weird that I had miserable heartburn daily before BFP, and now it's very infrequent?  I was dreading the additional heartburn but it's been like the opposite of what it was.  I should keep my mouth shut!!

I have had terrible, almost vomit inducing heartburn for a few years and only found relief through a strong 1 a day otc medication. I was scared to death when I got my BFP that I would be in worse shape and unable to take my medication, but my doctor says it's completely safe. I would be dying without it, so maybe if your heartburn gets excruciating you might want to give it a try. It's called Omeprazole and with just one pill in the morning you will be completely heart burn free! It has been my savior!!

Also I used to find that eating yogurt before bed helped a ton with heartburn, because it gets worse when you lay down.

    TTC #1 since November 2008

    3 MC: #1 at 8wks (blighted ovum) opted for D&C, #2 at 6wks natural, #3 at 12wks (no heartbeat) opted for D&C.
EDD 11/11/2014..... Heard a heartbeat for the very first time at 8w2d and I couldn't be more excited!!! The fact that this LO has a heartbeat gives me hope that I may get to be a mother after all!!
