Can I join the lurker stampede?

I've been a lurker for longer than I care to admit but with amnesty granted, I'd like to finally un-Homer myself and come out of the bushes.

I haven't participated yet bc by the time I finally get to bump, I've missed the socially acceptable time frame to continue with the conversation. Hopefully that will change over my summer vacation!

My son carter was born 10/7 and has been the most ridiculously incredible kid. He has been battling a nearly constant cold that finally turned into a 2 month long ear infection (getting tubes next week). At 5 mo we found a heart murmur that has since been diagnosed as a bicuspid aortic valve and aortic stenosis. You would never be able to tell he has anything "wrong" based on interacting with him though :D

    It won't resolve itself but his heart could figure out how to work around these issues or not. We find out on Wednesday how it's progressed and if it's not better by his first birthday he will need surgery. He's pretty tough though :)

    I promise. Truly this happened on a veerrrrryyy rare occasion and I would make sure there were plenty of others. This isn't an excuse, of course, and it was still the wrong thing to do. If you will give me a chance, I promise to show that I'm not a terrible person, just one who made some terrible choices
