Could my medicine be making dd sick?

Wednesday afternoon I got antibiotics for mastitis, but was told it had no risk or side effect for LO. Today she has been extra gassy, crying a lot, not sleeping as well and spitting up (which she never does). I feel so bad for her, and I don't know what else could cause it, she's not sick and this is the only recent change

  • It is likely from your antibiotics.

Is there anything I can or should do to help her? I don't want to keep making her sick.
    Anyone have experience with this

  • I had mastotis and was in both dicloxacillin and keflex (dicloxacillin didn't work for me). Baby did fine. It may just be a growth spurt or just a bad day. I'd call your dr just to make sure.

I got mastitis on Tuesday night and got dicloxicillin. DS has been fussy and at the breast every 1-1.5 hours for 45min at a time. My theory is that the fever/sickness knocked down my supply and DS is trying to get it back up. Today he's been spacing out the feedings a bit, so I'm hopefully he's getting it to where he wants it. Hopefully you'll see some improvement soon!

  • I am finishing up my script of dicloxicillin. I haven't noticed a major change in my LO but thank god it helped my boob relatively quickly. The pain was awful!

  • @AmberLiz99‌ - stick with it. In 24 hours or so you should feel a lot better! Good luck!
  • I didn't notice a change in my LO when I had mastitis,..DS was about 2w old when that happened. I agree with others...could be a growth spurt? How old is your LO? Babies become more gassy as they get older as it's a sign of their maturing digestive systems. My DS didn't start to spit up until he was 5 or 6 weeks. Now at 8w he will do it once or twice per day.
