I neeeeed this day to go by quickly, so I want some entertainment. And what's more entertaining than talking about names?

If you had same sex triplets today, what would you have and what would you name them?

Eta: you can add other name related questions or just randoms.

Love love love biblical boy names! I absolutely love these.
  • chiboo9chiboo9 member

For girl triplets, don't flame me, but I'd be that mom that would just love to name them Faith, Hope, and Grace. If quadruplets, I'd add Joy. :D

For boy names, I don't even know. But would most likely go with biblical names. Although I'm sure DH would pick names from X-Men or something from comic books. :/

Girls would be: Elizabeth (Beth) Marie, Amilia Grace, Hadley Jean

Boys: Oliver (Ollie) James, Wyatt Alexander, Atticus David

This is only me deciding, I know DH would never go for some of these
  • Boys: Thaddeus, Malcolm, and Joseph

    Girls: Gemma, Bronwyn, and Savannah
  • Girls: Elinor
    Samantha
    Lily
    Boys: Gary
    James
    Thomas

Middle names are hard! This is without DH's 2 cents. I know he is anti flower names, and he would veto James.

  • Girls
    Geneva Jeanne

I pick girls because I gave DS too many names and have no boy names left.  I have girl names I want to incorporate as either FNs or MNs but it would take me a long time work it all out exactly.  I'll just list what I've got :).

Virginia, but call her Ginny (it's the state where DH and I met, dated, fell in love, got engaged and married.  Also where he was born)
Laurel (it's my MN and my dad's FN although he doesn't go by it)
Katherine (my great grandma's name and similar to my FN, so I'd probably use it as a MN)
Grace (I just like this name)
Willa (William is a family name in both mine and DH's family)

Anyone who wants to match up names and make FN/ MN combos for me feel free :)

  • @nkaeding, not weird to have another DD share initials with DH.

Girl, Avery (is that weird, Avery and Riley?) or Virginia after DHs grandmother. Viriginia might be a MN. Riley's middle name is after my grandmother.

Boy, Henry Robert. Henry is DHs Dad's MN and Robert is my Dad's MN. I don't love that the name would be shared with FIL, but I love the name Henry.

Apparently I love  names that end in Y!

    Touch choices

Our first boy name is Isaac Alan. I've quit thinking about boy names as we're only having one more kid.

For a girl, I'm loving Juliet.

What I've been trying to think of is how to honor my grandpa in a female middle name. My grandpa's name was.....Adolphus. And he didn't have a middle name. And his last name was the name of a barnyard animal.

So my current thinking is a middle name with an "a," or "ad" but then it could get weird. Adeline? Ada? I also like Alice.

Ann is DH's grandma so it could be a two-fer.

    But I'm hesitant.

Because DH's name begins with a "J" and his middle name is Alan, so the kid would have his initals. Fine, but Noelle has mine.

So is that weird?!? @MRads‌ and J13, what do you think?

    Adelaide? Adele? Phussy? (Jk)

  • Its hard enough to think of 1 name at a time much less 3 of each ;)

    Girls -

Ravenica Alixia (recent find...love it, for now)
Caprica and Callisto were tossed around in the past.
I would probably use my mom and grandmas names for middle names so Lorna and Lie (pronounced Leah)

    Boys -

Dax Adama (current boy front runner for future)
Draven Atticus (DH would never agree)
Adrian Scott ( DH was set on this name for years)

  • Ooooh! Triplets? After recovering from my heart attack ;) I'd probably choose these:

    Boys:
    Nicolas Camilo
    Alexander Mateo
    Johan Pablo

First names are BF, father and brother's middle names. Middle names are of people we admire (middle and first name pairings are not definite)

    Girls:
    Lina Aleix
    Aleida Sofia
    Catalina Maelys
First names are ones that didn't make it to the final round for Feli, middle names Catalan/Breton names we loved.
    The original: Aug2013
    The remix: Feb2017
    The encore: coming Oct2019

  • Girls (cause I have used up the boy names!):

    Willa June
    Lucy Claire
    Maeve Viola

I also like Gretta. I had them first names Gretta, Willa, and Viola, but wanted each name to be distinct sounding.

Viola was my grandma's name & Lucy is like my Mil. I just love Willa.

  • Boys:

    Alex Cameron
    Seth Michael
    Dominic ??

    Girls:
    Emily Laine
    Leyla Mae
    Lillian ??

We only have 2 of each picked out. I'm hoping we have one of each bc I really only love the first ones.

Naming same sex twins was hard enough. Now triplets? Hmm...

Girls- Cecelia Jane, Violet Blair, and Anna Katherine. (Cece, Violet, and Anna Kate)

Boys- Beckett James, William Silas, and Sawyer Charles. (Beckett, Win, and Sawyer).

  • Awwww, yay to the Adeline and Adelaide's! Adeline was almost named Adelaide (it's an old family name).

I would most likely have triplet girls since 98% of my huge family is female. DH gets to decide upon the next babies name and all we could agree upon for girls was Adelaide or Adeline so I have no idea what we would do!

Boys would be Milo, Timothy and Brennan.
