1st Trimester

today I am pregnant

Ok so I have been having some major stress over holding my pregnancy and I am going to try to be positive. I have never been pregnant before, no previous MCs and I'm 36 yrs old. I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant. LMP was 4/16. I took a 2 tests on Mothers Day and one at the drs office 2 days later. All strong positives. Today I took one (I know I just couldn't help myself) and it was a faint positive. It was still clearly visible but much lighter than last week. I did a digital a few hours later and it said yes so I need to hang on to that. No bleeding, just some period-like cramping, bloating and a little back pain. My breasts are not sore but truth be told they have never been very sensitive anyway. No other symptoms. I am trying to stay positive but my first dr visit isn't for 3 weeks. I might lose my mind by then. Is this all normal?

  • Congratulations, you're pregnant! If everything seems fine, don't stress! And stop peeing on sticks.. a faint line is still a line. They've already told you you're pregnant, so relax and enjoy this time!

And yes, everything you are feeling is totally normal. I had very bad cramps for the first several weeks. I also did not have any breast tenderness until later in the first trimester. Everyone experiences different symptoms differently. Some get them pretty intensely, some not at all. Everyone's body is different, so how we react to the influx of hormones is always going to be different.

Just take care of yourself is all you can do. A MC usually happens because something is wrong with the fetus, there's not much you'd be able to do to stop it. Just relax and enjoy not having any symptoms...while it lasts ;)
