Dressing babies for warmer weather?

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I'm a FTM and feel like this is a stupid question, but at what point do you start dressing your LO in "summer" clothes, ie, shorts, rompers, tanks, etc? I'm afraid she's going to be chilly if I put her in shorts and it's only 75 out, but I'm afraid she will be hot in pants if it gets up to 80.

Help me!

I am wondering about this too. I have the palest white kid alive and I'm afraid if he goes outside in short sleeves or shorts that he'll burn, but I don't want him to overheat either.

S/o sunblock does anyone still have that link to the post where someone explained the difference between sunblock and sunscreen and which ingredients are safe for babies?

It's been in the high 60s/low 70s pretty consistently for the past few weeks here. If it's 65-70, I put her in long pants (usually leggings) and a short-sleeve onesie or shirt. Usually dress her the same for low 60s but just add a cardigan. If it's low 70s and up, I put in her in a dress or romper and she's usually okay. I kind of just go on how I'm feeling myself.

There are two types of sunscreens/sunblocks: chemical barrier (sunscreen) and physical barrier (sunblock). The vast majority of what is on the market is the chemical barrier type, even most of the stuff that says it's for babies so you have to be careful. Physical barrier sunblocks are more expensive but worth it.

I put LO in shorts if it's 75 or higher. She sweats in the car seat so I keep that into consideration too. I always keep a light weight blanket in my diaper bag just incase. At night it gets chilly and sometimes I don't have time to change her.

if it's below 70 I usually do a onesie with pants. Above 70s is rompers/shorts/onesies.

Thanks ladies!!! We live in Iowa and the weather has been whacky lately, so I wasn't sure. Looks like I can break out her cute summer clothes!

Glad you asked. We're taking DS to Las Vegas and northern AZ so I need to know how to dress him for that. I guess a onesie and lots of sunblock

70 is freezing for us so he's in long selves and pants and jackets when he goes out. Getting up to 80 and he might wear shorts. Summer was 95+ so most of the time it was just a nappy and a tank top.
