More Pregnancy Dreams

Any weird pregnancy dreams lately? These posts are fun.

Mine last night was a bit of a nightmare, though it shouldn’t have been! If this had happened in real life, I definitely would have handled it better than I did in my dream. (Why are we always so dumb in dreams?)

I dreamt that I was at a P!nk concert. Someone pulled me out of the audience, took me backstage and explained in urgent tones that Pink was unable to do the final number and that I would have to fill in for her. If you know Pink and her performances, you know that she does a lot of high-flying acrobatics and Cirque du Soleil –type tricks. Especially in the finale where she flies all over the stadium. And now they wanted me to do it all!

Here’s where in real life I would have just said, “Not my problem; find someone else." But in the dream I was obligated to give it my best shot. So her people strapped me into a harness with chords going up to the top of the stadium, and said I was going on in 3 minutes. I protested that:
a) I’ve never done anything like this before
b) I’m seven months pregnant and
c) I didn’t know all the lyrics to the song.

Someone took me aside and quickly taught me the first verse of the song (as if that’s the most important thing wrong about this scenario!)

So I was waiting for the curtain to go up and lights to go on, shaking in my harness and sweating with terror. Part of the harness slipped off and the stagehands just told me to slip it back on again. There was no time to fix it properly. I was so scared and sure that I was going to fall to my death. My baby was kicking inside me and I was quietly holding back tears.

I was sooo relieved to wake up and find that, no, I and my unborn baby didn’t have to be flung 200 feet in the air by a chord (and would most likely be killed before the music stopped) while faking lyrics to a song I didn’t know in front of 15,000 people. Phew!

I've had a few dreams where everyone around me is drinking and partying, including DH and I realize I can't partake and I get sad cuz (in my dream) i can't hang out with my friends anymore...

Also always breast feeding my cat...

I had a lot of really weird dreams during 1st tri.

Before we found out LO is a boy, DH would ask me about my dreams and swear that it meant we were having a boy.

One was when I kept growing facial hair. No matter how many times I shaved it, it would grow back into a full blown beard within minutes.

Another one involved me sitting with an Ent (the talking tree things in Lord of the Rings), and talking about how MY Ent was so much better because his roots were deeper.

Lately though, my dreams are dominated with breastfeeding. I havent seen my baby yet, but I'll be breastfeeding DH and random people. Oddly enough it seems quite...fulfilling?

The one I had last night was crazy. The baby was kicking and moving super hard and we could see his hands and feet through my belly. All of a sudden I can actually SEE his hand sticking out of my stomach underneath my right rib and I am screaming about how he punched through my stomach and my water broke. He keeps ripping at the hole until we can see his head too. So my aunt pulls him out from underneath my rib like a reversed c section. He was fine. He had the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen which seems unlikely because mine are dark brown and h's are hazel.

Mine haven't been fun lately. It used to be sex dreams now it's moved to deaths. I absolutely hate it.
