We purchase that edamame hummus from Trader Joe's all the time, and definitely purchased it many times in April, and we live in Texas. However, I have no clue if any of it had an expiration date of APR/28/14, APR/29/14 or MAY/9/24, because obviously if they did we already ate them and threw the packaging away.
I don't remember feeling sick, but should I still be concerned?
And they're worried about lunch meat..... This is scary. Wasn't there something else recently that was also recalled?
Seriously!!!! At my OB apt last week they asked me if I was eating unheated lunch meat. I was honest and told them yes. They started going on and on about how unsafe it was because of listeria. I literally "went-off" on the nurse. I told them the last outbreaks/recalls of listeria had been in: 1) Salsa; 2) Cheese; 3) Lettuce and 4) Melon. So, if they tell me to stop eating fruits and salad then I will listen to them about lunch meat. *Eye Roll*
Thanks for the heads up! I just bought a huge tub of hummus for a college reunion I am hosing this weekend...gonna pull my preggo butt off the couch to double check the brand now...
What are the freakin' odds...I never ate hummus during other pregnancies...I got busted by the hubby for eating feta and cold salami, at a party by accident. I've been making and eating hummus with turkey lunch meat (preheated of course) in whole wheat wraps like daily for 3 months. Mine wasn't the brands indicated, but to be on the safe side I tossed it. The reason my husband and I care is because we've cared for sick moms/babies with listeriosis.

Yeah, ground beef was recalled in certain states for E. Coli.
I'm starting to think I'm just going to eat cheese pizza for the rest of my pregnancy.
