Pumping/Storing Question - XP in a May2014 Thread

This may be a really dumb question, but if I pump and leave the bottle in the fridge, can I pump more later and just add it to the first bottle and then freeze all of it together or do I have to freeze each individual batch by itself?

DD is three weeks old and will typically empty one breast before going to sleep for 3-4 hours. In the meantime, the other breast will sometimes become engorged (and it feels like it's on fire!) so I pump that one. I've been freezing each pumped bottle individually but it seems more convenient to just throw together a whole day's worth since it's not that much.

I combine milk from different pumping times. I would recommend freezing it in smaller batches though. I do 2 and 4oz bags. That way you don't have to thaw a large amount of milk to make a bottle. Once it's been frozen and thawed it needs to be used in 24 hours.
