We went camping for the first time with LO over this past weekend. We stayed in my parents camper, but I'd pack pretty much the same if we were staying in a tent. I made sure to bring lots of warm clothes (still chilly here in PA). I took way too many outfits for DS but I wanted to make sure I had something warm/dry/clean incase something happened. We took a handful of DSs favorite toys to keep him entertained and that helped. We don't co-sleep/bed share at home, but did while we were there. I would have done the same in a tent. Not sure how long you're staying but I took a laundry bag for dirty clothes so I could just throw it all in the washer when we got home. Other than that... the obvious: plenty of diapers, wipes, formula. Not sure if that helps but I didn't seem to miss anything over the weekend so we did OK for our first family trip.
We have a camper and have been a few times. But it's more comparable to a hotel then a tent. Grace sleeps in a mini pnp I bring her rnp for the living room and outside. A bug net and all her diapers wipes bottles formula cooler pack etc. I also over pack clothes from short long pjs sort long outfits and layers a fleece coat and spring coat. I love baby born for walks and have a frame stroller just to save space. She does well although she's not really able to be on the floor. We are close to everything in case we forget anything though.
Hi we are going for the first time this weekend! We had a trial run in the back yard which helped us see what we need and have LO get used to it. So I recommend that if you can! It got cold at night so extra warm clothes. The rock and play worked great for outside under the awning, she slept in it too which was ok but I think I'm going to use a pnp this weekend bc it's more like her crib. Bug spray, hats, sunscreen. If your worried about poopy diapers smelling I've heard that a food container like the bigger ones used for dog food/cereal work great! Good luck!!
Question- does being by a camp fire bother babies? We will be camping in a few months but we have a fire pit in our backyard. Our LO is fine when she's near the fire but I wonder if the smell of the fire (as it lingers on her for a bit afterwards) bothers her. One time, after her bath she was all bundled and it was comfortable outside so I brought her out there. When I brought her inside I realized she still smelled like camp fire. Any thoughts?

I don't think. While we were camping, like you said, I had DS bundled up and he LOVED looking at the fire. I didn't get too close and didn't let the smoke blow directly at us. Fire smoke lingers even if you're not very close at all. I think it's fine. You're outside so it's obviously ventilated. It's not cigarette smoke. I don't let anyone get close to DS with a cig. Outside or not.
I have a lot of environmental allergies. I'm allergic to most trees so wood smoke of almost any kind in any amount will lock my sinuses up tighter than Fort Knox. I assumed that since my son had sensitive skin like me he might have the same kinds of allergies. In talking with the pedi about getting him an Epi Pen he informed me that most babies don't develop environmental allergies until they are at least 18 months. At the earliest they might start showing at a year. Take that for what it's worth. We all know pedi's aren't always educated on all subjects.
Oh and I found this helpful when packing LOs millions little pants and tee shirts and things. I separated them and put in plastic bags and labeled with marker so it will be easier to find things.
