Trouble TTC

IUI with clomid question

Hi I posted earlier regarding how I didn't think clomid is working for me.
This cycle my doc upped the dosage from 50mg to 100 mg, and on CD12 the largest follie was only 10mm. He asked me to come back again on CD15, which is today. Well, it turns out that there is 1 large follie today, 27mm!! It grew so fast? and it goes to 27mm? Before clomid my follie only grew to be 22mm or so. Doc said it normal for it to be this size with clomid...I'm a bit surprised.
He gave me HCG shot today and we will do IUI tomorrow. Normally the shot hurts a lot and sore if I touch it, and they usually tell me to rub it in a bit after the shot. But today it barely hurt at all, the nurse did not tell me to rub, and now I'm touching it and it doesn't feel anything. Hum.....
A bit unsure of this time.

I don't recall my HCG trigger ever hurting. My nurse also never told me to rub it in. Good luck with your IUI!

  • My trigger never really hurt, either, nor was I told to rub it.
I have done the extra round of Clomid in a couple of cycles, the first one "stair-stepping" as you did from 50 to 100.  I'm glad that it got things going for you!  I've never had growth that fast!  GL!!

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what your question is? If it's about the hcg trigger, my trigger shots have never hurt. So I don't think that not feeling anything is a bad thing.

Glad your ovaries got in gear and you got a good follie out of this cycle!

    Actually I had several questions:
    1. Is it normal that follies grow this fast in just a few days?
    2. Is it normal to be grown to 27mm and still not ovulated?
    3. Does the HSG shot hurt? Sore after?

Anyway sorry I was just rambling on and not too clear. IUI scheduled tomorrow and I'm just nervous that it's too late due to the size of follie. I'm also disappointed that I don't have any more follies.

    1. Follies *typically* grow about 2mm per day but I have personally had some that jumped more than that in a short time frame.
    2. If your LH hadn't surged, yes I would think so.  Did they do an u/s and b/w to confirm you hadn't ovulated?  Different REs trigger at different points, I believe not usually smaller than 18mm but I have heard of ladies with larger follies like yours.
    3. No, my triggers never hurt and were not sore after.

    Good luck tomorrow!

  • So I just finished my IUI. Doctor said I have ovulate already. So I asked if it's too late for IUI, and he says no, and we went ahead with it. Is this normal? I must've just ovulated because trigger was about 24 hours ago.

  • Also we couldn't bd last night coz he told us not to, so we planned to do it tomorrow. But since I've already O'ed that means it would be too late to BD tomorrow?
