As the weather is getting warmer, are you sending your LO in shoes or sandals to DC? It seems like socks and shoes may be too warm, but I also feel like sandals might not be enough protection for DC, and her feet are going to get sooo dirty.
Yes, the sandals have to cover the toe at our DC; so they end up being quite enclosed. I haven't sent DS to school in them yet, but doubt that his feet will get much dirtier in them than in normal shoes.

DS is is at a home DC so no rules about footwear here. He wears soft soled shoes if it's a rainy day and sandals (open toe) on nice days. He gets a bath every night so I'm not worried about dirty feet.
Agreed with pp about keens!! They are awesome. I don't trust ds in open toed shoes anyway. We have keens and we also got a cheaper pair of keen lookalikes just for dc at target i think?
We are at an in-home d/c so there are not any rules. We have a few pairs of athletic sandals, one is closed toe and the other is open. And his dress sandals are closed.

We're at a home daycare, so don't have any rules. But I usually still send him there in sneaker like shoes. When they are inside, he usually is in just socks or bare feet. However, they do go outside now that the weather is nice again and my kid is running and climbing all over the place, so I would rather keep his feet in closed toed shoes.
DS has a pair of Oshkosh sandals that are very similar to Keens that he's started to go to DC in, but I still like to have him in soft soled shoes or barefoot as much as I can, so once we're home, the shoes come off. They have to have their shoes off when they're inside at DC anyway, so he's in socks most of the day.
