Talk to me about endometrin

So my "7" (6) DPO progesterone test came back a little low, and now my doctor wants me to be on progesterone support. I'm going to be taking endometrin, starting tonight. I didn't have to take it last cycle, and I assumed (foolishly) that I wouldn't need it this cycle, so I haven't read anything about it. Can you give me the down and dirty?

What side-effects do you have on it, if any? Is it safe to have sex? Do oral? Will I want to banish my husband to another bedroom for a while? :-p Or more likely, will he want to banish me? 

As a bonus note and question, I think I am *still* having hot flashes from the Clomid. I was on 100mg and then 150mg, but I stopped it 10 days ago!! Am I crazy? Has anyone else experienced this?

9/2014 And now adding hypothyroid to the list- Started synthroid 9/2014
Cycles 1-4 - Sept.-March- All Anovulatory 
IUI #1 March/April-  Clomid 50mg + Clomid 100mg +Trigger + IUI #1 = BFN
 IUI #2 April/May-Clomid 100mg + Clomid 150mg + Trigger + IUI #2 + Endometrin=BFN
IUI #3- June- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3  Benched due to a 40 mm cyst. :-(
IUI #3- July- Follistim 75iu + Trigger + IUI #3 + Endometrin = BFP! on 7/25/14
Slowly rising betas - Ectopic suspected on 8/8/14 & confirmed on 8/11/14
Methotrexate on 8/12/14 -HCG negative on 9/2/14
IVF #1- November- Antagonist protocol: 11/1: start stims, 200iu of Follistim; 11/12 ER 17R/14M/14F; 11/17 5 day transfer of two blasts, 2 blasts and 2 expanding morulas frozen; 11/22 BFP!! (On FRER at 5dp5dt)
Betas: 9dp5dt 205, 11dp5dt 497, 14dp5dt 1,709
u/s at 5w0d- 1 sac; u/s at 6w0d 1 baby with heartbeat, another sac without a heartbeat

    I'm glad to know I'm not crazy! My first Clomid cycle, the hot flashes ended within a few days of stopping Clomid. This cycle I have been waking up every night several times to chug ice water, run my hands under cold water, etc. It is driving me crazy. We even had the air conditioning on last night, so it's definitely not because my bedroom was too hot. Sigh.

    I hate Endometrin. I had to wear panty liners all day on it because you are leaking white looking discharge. I had to take it 2x's a day and I would put it in a lay down for about 30 min to let it dissolve. A few times I didn't and I didn't notice much of a difference but the instructions said to do it.

    I also never wanted sex because of the discharge I just felt nasty. Oh I hate that stuff.

    Endometrin isn't bad...just gross. I didn't have sex on it, but I also only took it after ET so I was on pelvic rest. Pantyliners (or full blown pads) are your friend.

    @pintobean39 Did it make you tired/hungry/moody? I'm worried about being tired at work. Or stabbing innocent people. I'm irritable enough already....

    I was on it before and will take it again when I burn the bench. Like others have said you will want to wear panty liners, but I didn't think it was that bad. You can have sex while taking them, they just recommend waiting at least 30 min after inserting the meds. I usually would wait at least 2 hrs because I was paranoid.

    Oh also--- I felt like the symptoms were normal post O or early pregnancy symptoms. I mostly felt a bit more bloated than usual, but nothing else was really dramatic.

    It sucks! But my only side effect was I was really tired.. It's more annoying than anything!

    IUI #3 April - CD3 U/S 4-10. Letrozole, Follistim, Ovidrel CD11 - Cancelled.. TI w/5 follicles-BFN
    IUI #3.1 May - CD3 U/S 5-6, Follistim start 5-11 thru 5-17, u/s 5-18 3 mature w/ a close 4th, IUI 5-20 - BFP!
                 Beta #1 12dpo - 164 & progesterone - 89!, Beta #2 16 dpo - 1189, 5w3d - u/s shows TWINS!
                 6/19- u/s showed heartbeats! Baby A 111 & Baby B 118, both measuring 6w1d

    No I wasn't tired on the suppositories. Now the Progesterone I had to take by mouth knocked me out every night within 30 mins of taking it.

    I'm sure it helped with the craziness of feeling "pregnant" but I also had a trigger which makes your body think it's pregnant too so there is no stopping the crazies in the 2ww it's a double whammy.

    Fucking bump!!!!

    It didn't make me tired, but my boobs were big and painful, and sex was not real comfortable. I just timed romance before inserting my next dose. Ahh the things we do for IF.

    2/14 through 3/14 benched with a cyst
    IVF#1 CD1 came before beta. BFN. No frosties.
    Benched with cysts...
    IVF#2 beta moved up due to heavy bleeding 6dp5dt...beta was 11. beta#2 20.4! Beta#3 28 Chemical pregnancy :(
    Currently on BCPs with cysts, planning IVF#3 Everyone welcome!

    Thanks, @Mozzarella. I wish the sex part was covered in the package insert. I can't be the only person who wants to know if it is safe (for both my husband and my absorption of the medication). I think your plan of timing your "romance" sounds good though. I mean, the thought of having sex and then shoving a pill up there makes me gag a bit, but I hate to make my husband have sex with me a million times in two weeks and then shut him down. :-p Plus, if I do end up pregnant, I'm not willing to be sex-less for a few months.

    I started it about 3-4 days ago... and I HATE IT!!!! It leaks, leaks, and leaks some more! I wish it was just for a couple of hours, but nope. And it makes me feel nasty and gross, sigh.

    Not to mention, it's also caused me to break out as well. DH also says I'm extremely cranky and whiney lately, lol.

    Hoping you have a much better experience!
