Bf to formula

I recently switched my LO from breastmilk to formula due to an intolerance of my milk. He pooped once yesterday and not since. He seems to be very uncomfortable and I'm wondering if I can do anything to help him get it out. We have his one month appt tomorrow, but I'm thinking about calling soon if he doesn't get better. Any ideas that have work for your LO's?

Eta- I know his body needs to get used to the formula, but he seems like he is struggling so much to poop.

  • My LO took a week to get adjusted. Now she only poops once a day.

Give him a lil time....he could be gasy, too. You can gently massage the tummy in a circular motion and well as move legs in a bicycle motion.
  • I would try tummy massage and gas drops, and ask your pedi tomorrow. It's normal for the switch to take time

I mix formula with breast milk. Seems to be a little easier on their tummies. Not sure if that's an option or not to help the transition
  • My nephew was  constipated for several days, and my sister swears by pear juice to cure it. Not sure how old he was, but was still very young. I'd still get it ok'd by a doctor first.
