AW: Hand Me Down Jackpot!

At the end of my first trimester, my sister gave me her crib and changing table, because my niece had outgrown it. Then a mutual friend of my sister gave us this crazy $400 baby swing that her daughter hates, but I can barely figure out which buttons do what! Yesterday, a friend I've had since high school called me and told me she had "a few things" for me. She gave me a vibrating bouncy seat, 2 Moby wraps, an in-bed cosleeper, 15 GroVia cloth diaper covers, about 30 diaper pads/liners, a ton of cloth breast pads, a very nice breast pump, one of the baby baths that's shaped like a bucket, a few belly time toys, and a ton of baby linens!

I feel so blessed! All we really need now is a car seat and a stroller. These kind ladies literally wiped out most of registry before anyone had a chance to see it. DH is a little bummed that about half of the diaper covers are girly, but I vote we just use those at home, or I guess I could swap them with someone from the local cloth diapering group downtown. I am just overwhelmed with the generosity!

Here's the latest load of goodies! AndPlusAlso my dog, Big Dumb Paul. He's a curious guy! (Please ignore my dusty furniture. We live in the desert, and today is my only day off this week. I will not be dusting today either, it will still be there when I have 2 days off next week. lol)

Awesome! When I was pregnant with DS, DH's old boss invited us over to her house to "pick up a few baby things". We left with our car entirely jam packed with essential items in great condition. We were (and still are) so grateful! Now when DD outgrows these items I am excited to pass them along to my BFF who is expecting her first

And DH is very excited to re-claim the garage space!

@moose0512 You should check out some Mom Groups in your area. My friends added me to one on FB when I told them I was pregnant. It's an easy way to find hand me downs, get advice, and just commiserate!

Huge score! A friend of DHs gave me EVERYTHING she had after her son grew out of. Clothes from 0-12 months, swings, bouncy seats, toys. I'm talking everything!

That's so awesome! Yay for generous friends. My good friend who is due in July with a girl went on The Talk yesterday for some kind of baby show (a la Ellen and other mommy giveaway talk shows) and one of the items she got was a crib but she already has one. She totally could have sold it but is offering it to me (I have nothing except a bit of clothes) so I'm super grateful! She also gave me a small bag of hand-me-downs she got from her friend since the clothes were for boys. Recently, BIL's wife offered some of my nephews clothes (she is having a girl in August). I hope to be able to be able to hand down just like these terrific ladies someday!

I'm getting an infant car seat with 3 bases, a pack and play, a swing, and a bouncer from my sister. She also has to go through her girl clothes. Meanwhile DH's sister is going through her collection for us too. I LOVE hand me downs!

That's awesome!

We were OAD when we got unexpectedly pregnant with this little surprise, so we had already given away or donated almost all of our baby things. Luckily, since I have a 3 year old, I have a ton of mom friends who are looking to get rid of their stuff. The only things we've had to buy so far have been our PnP and RnP, both of which I purchased during really great sales.
