Has anyone used a doula?

My husband just graduated nursing school and one of his classmates is going on to become a NMW. She's offered me her services as a doula! I didn't have one for either of my other pregnancies and am intrigued. Has anyone else had a doula or planning to have one?

    I used a doula with DS 3. I'm really glad that I did and we plan to use her again this time. The only downside is she has DOUBLED her price since the last time we used her. If your goal is to have an unmedicated birth or avoid a c-section, you should definitely look into it!

    Yes, but I had a planned unmedicated birth. If I had drugs I think it would've been a waste. My doula was amazing and made sure not to step on my husband's toes. If you have any desire to go drug free then I highly recommend it.

    I'm meeting with her this weekend! I had an unmediated VBAC with my last baby (after an induced, epidural-ed, eventually emergency c section with my first) and it was such a great experience that I want to do whatever I can to repeat it!!
