Let's lighten the mood about breastfeeding...

Moms of 2+...the bf post had me reminiscing about all the crazy places that I had to nurse or pump with ds1. What are your crazy places? For me it was probably nursing in the middle of a raiders game...but there were definitely a lot of awkward moment pumping in airport bathrooms (work travel).

When ds was tiny (3wks maybe) we went to costco. I had him in the moby & tried to nurse him while walking through the store. He wasn't having it so I found some office chairs on display & sat in one & nursed him.

@Kinsqared carrier nursing was such a life saver. I don't think I would have survived without it!

I'm so jealous! I could never figure out nursing in the ergo.

There were several times I nursed walking around Target, but I just held him and kept browsing! I also nursed at a Oklahoma Redhawks game (minor league baseball)

OH! And once, leaning over his car seat when we were in a traffic jam. DH was driving and he was SCREAMING. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Weird places I've pumped--

In the car on a 17 hour drive. Again on an 11 hour drive. And on a 22 hour drive.

On an airplane.

On the tour bus thingy at the San Diego Zoo (with my BFF from my first BMB. She was EPing, too, and we thought if we sat in the back in corners it'd be ok. Then another bus went right past us. hahahahahahaha).

Church.

College campus.

In a public park.

Funeral home.

@Blazerbay214-- I pumped in a restaurant with my parents. My dad asked if I could go do it in the bathroom. I looked at him and said "You want to take your lunch into the bathroom?" He obviously said no. End of that. Ever.

Hooray being snotty to a parent paid off. hahahaha.

I haven't pumped anywhere crazy but I've nursed just about anywhere, most recently on deck 9 of the Disney cruise I was on while we waited for our group to be called to disembark. I don't love doing it in public but sometimes you gotta duo what you gotta do.

Airplane, restaurants, mall, baseball game, mall... pretty much wherever I went for the first year of DD's life. We continued to nurse after, but usually just at bedtime, morning, or middle of the night.

I never had to pump anywhere crazy - we had a dedicated rooms at work, so that was helpful.

I did find that there are a lot of museums/aquariums etc. these days that have a nursing room complete with glider - which is nice when you're first getting the hang of it!

Walking around Ikea, in various restaurants, at church, and as far as pumping, goes, I went to see a taping of the Maury Show, and didn't realize how long we'd be there, forgot my pump and wound up hand-expressing into the toilet just to relieve some pain!

I did that too many times to count!

My strangest place was at the Red's game- and usually you can go to the first aid station but it was full so they let us go down to the diamond club to nurse! My DH said that my DS would nurse until he was 20 if we got to do that everytime, haha!

I pumped in a bathroom at a music convention that I took students to. I was in the bathroom for 20 minutes that some lady I did not know when and got security because she thought something was wrong. And I told her that I was fine. Good times...Hahaha

I pretty much nursed DD anywhere and everywhere we went. So I don't really think of anywhere as crazy.

But there was an incident in the airport waiting for a flight. I used one of the privacy covers because DD was soooo easily distracted. There was this 10-year-old boy sitting behind us who kept standing up in his seat to be able to see what I was doing. I asked him repeatedly to stop, because he was literally leaning on me to look over my shoulder. Eventually DH got so fed up that he asked the kid's parents to get him to stop.
