I just had to share my story from my ultrasound yesterday!
My H wasn't able to be there because of limited time off at work, so I had my sister go with me. So it was me, my sister, the ultrasound tech, and an ultrasound tech student.
Baby had been moving yesterday like normal, so active in the morning and pretty mellow after lunch. Well as soon as that ultrasound head hit my stomach, baby was a madman! Wherever she put the head, baby moved, kicked, twisted, etc! It was so funny to watch and feel. And it was kicking so hard that the tech kept laughing because she could feel it every time! And baby did NOT want us to see it's face! It twisted and turned for 5 whole minutes before we finally got one picture of it!
So after probably 20 minutes of finding and measuring the different parts, she asked if the student could try for a while to find and measure different things. I said sure (as if I was going to say no to extra ultrasound time!). So she was having the student try to get the head and measure the circumference. They had it in real-time 4D view, and as soon as she finally got a good view to measure, the baby shook it's head back and forth like it was saying, "NO!" It was the funniest, cutest, most perfect timing I have ever seen! I had tears in my eyes because it made me so happy and laugh so much!
And baby is a little above average weight right now, growing happy, healthy, head down, and everything seems completely normal
Please share your best ultrasound stories here!

I was semi-aware of this, but at my last visit (it was a follow-up of our a/s since they couldn't see where the blood was exiting the heart), I just asked my tech "Do we ever get to do one?"
At which point he told me all of the above, but mentioned that he's trained to do them, they have the ability, but they're just not allowed to for billing purposes.
After he gets the shots he needs, he says "Don't tell." And then -WHAM- on the monitor mounted to the wall, I see this:
I went "Ohmygosh! I won't tell!!!"
He said he couldn't resist because the baby was in such a good position to take these pictures, and he really likes being able to do them.
I got to see the kiddo playing with the umbilical cord and, go figure, my kid flipped me off at one point.
It was just such a surprise that he was kind enough to do it for me, and so entirely unexpected.
