PSA for STM's re-washing everything.... (Stuff in storage etc) and for new moms

So I had a few pieces of clothing (dresses, cute onesies etc) that I totally thought I'd just donate bc they had yellowed and looked really stained, I didn't think they would make it back into rotation this go round. I decided to wash one more time before donating. I was SO wrong! The trick? Shout spray with foaming action, spray down area that's stained, sprinkle dry oxyclean powder over the whole area, then re-spray with shout, and let sit. I let mine sit for 30 min or so, but ideally about an hour. Wash like normal afterwards. I couldn't believe the results, I almost wish I took before and after pics. That impressed. It's the little victories ;)

Sunning also works wonders for stains. Just get the area wet, and stick in the sun! You can squirt on some lemon juice too if it's really stained.

  • I wonder if this would work on very old stains. I have a lot of clothes that my brothers wore and have been in storage since 1991. Some are great, but others have that yellowish stain from storage. Ill have to give this a go! Thanks for the tip!

  • White vinegar helps too with dish soap and hot water. Dd threw her crayon in the laundry and we didn't catch it until her clothes came out green. We looked online and it said soak in the hot water vinegar soap concoction for 15 minutes then wash. Repeat as necessary. It not only got the green out but made everything so much brighter.
