GONE GIRL - where are you?

Since when I posted awhile back, it seemed like many of you have either finished the book or given up on it. Those that are still reading, have you finished? If we've all finished, I don't see the point in waiting until the end of the month to discuss - but if a lot of us are still reading it, or some of us want to start reading it, then our discussion will be at the end of next week! Since after that we will have to pick another book, please comment with your suggestions. I really want to read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children after last month's book poll.

ETA: Peculiar not Imaginary.

I haven't read the book you're polling in this post, but I just wanted to say that I've read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (not imaginary children) and thought it was delightful. There's a sequel to it currently out that's on my to-read list.

A word of advice, though, on Miss Peregrine's is to either buy the paper version of the book or make sure you are using a high-resolution e-reader. When I first read it I was just on my standard Kindle for books and totally missed out on the fascinating pictures scattered throughout the chapters.

I think I got it mixed up with Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. You know, the TV show? I love paper versions more than the e-versions, because new book smell!

I finished both this month... Gone Girl and Miss Peregrine's. Miss P was very good and certainly worth a read.

If we do have another poll, I think Orphan Train should be on it... someone suggested it last time and it looks really good.

I'm easy though, I wouldn't mind seeing a poll in the next day or two... even if it just had the suggestions from last time

I know some people want to be able to reserve the chosen book from their library.

I read like 120some books last year. I'm a little slower this year. This pregnancy has me so tired I keep falling asleep (but I'm usually listening to an audio book when I go to bed at night).

HA! I think you are doing a great job of heading it up! I look forward to our next book and all the discussions that follow.

I'm not going to lie though, 2nd trimester really has me wishing we also had a 'dirty' book club too. My hormones are raging like a 16 y/o.

I'm trying to remember...I finished the book and then read the whole Divergent trilogy after that.

I was totally surprised. Her diary had me feeling so sorry for her.

I suspected her involvement from the very beginning, and picked up on tinges of insanity, but did not anticipate the extent she would go to frame her husband (or previously terrorized kids).

Yeah, I suspected that he didn't kill her...that there was so other explanation. I never fully bought her side of the story in the diary and thought that she was just a b**** with high expectations. But, I will admit I did not see the extent of her mastermindedness and trickery. By the end, I felt terribly sorry for the husband.
