any Roomba users?

With LO being so much more of a moible crumb maker & anti-vacume noise advocate, am contemplating the Roomba. Anyone have one? If so, how noisy/effective is it? Thaamks in advance!

No pets here, mostly hardwood/lineloium & a few short pile carpeted rooms if that info would help.

  • I LOVE ours. It's not quiet, for sure, but we have it run at night and it doesn't keep us up. I'd suggest getting it at Costco if you do, it's the cheapest way to go.

  • darn it. There goes the fantasy of waking up to a clean, non-crumb covered floor after a blisfully quiet night.

  • I'd take a little bit of noise for 45 minutes over a crumby floor any day!

It's about the same volume as a normal vacuum, I'd guess. I use ours in our basement because I don't like the way it hits the furniture and the baseboards. I'm actually really glad to have it, though, because that makes the job of vacuuming the house much easier. Our basement is basically 1/3 of our house.

If you let it run long enough, it's pretty darn effective. It doesn't get as much with one pass as a regular vacuum, but it goes over the same spot multiple times by the time it's done.

Could you run it while your LO naps?
  • it's a possibility. Naps are more feasible than over night because DH hears everything and it would prevent him from sleeping.

  • Everyone I know that has one, loves it. I would like one. It seems vacuuming never happens these days.
