Newbie Lurker here!

Ive been lurking for about a month since we started CD DD who is 10 months old. We have another DD who will be here in August and I'm in nursing school! CDing has been going very well. No problems so far, hardly any leaking, even at night and no rashes. Ive got a pretty good stash going and washing every other day. But just wondering about detergent. I've figured out we have soft water. Ive been using Tide Ultra powder in a top loader, non HE, but in your opinions, what is the best detergent for soft water? I don't want to get detergent build up! Thanks in advance!

    Do you have signs of build up? If it ain't broke don't fix it.

    I don't believe so but I've done a bunch of extra washes in hot just to make sure. And her morning diapers do reek of ammonia, but not her freshly peed in ones. Her morning disposables smelled pretty bad too though. So im thinking she just has some rough smelling pee after its been sitting for 12 hours. Just trying to prevent a problem before I get one! But I guess if its working so far just leave well enough alone lol. Thank you!

    Do you soak the overnight diapers? I think those do tend to just stink. Lots of people around here seem to soak them, though, and that helps.

    Thank you! I don't soak the diapers but I do spray them down usually. I'll try soaking them also!
