Support Belts

OK talk to me about support belts. What brand? Where did you get yours? How was sizing? I'm thinking I need one. I previously lost 70 pounds and had saggy skin in my belly region and have a feeling that has led to my baby belly sagging more than would be considered 'normal'. Maybe I'm just crazy who knows. But I think I would feel a lot better with support belt. I looked at a few online about a month ago and was overwhelmed. Hoping you can guide me. Thanks!

I can't guide you but am looking forward to others' advice. My left hip KILLS when I run, and for the rest of the day afterwards.

  • It's not a support belt, but I got this (link below).  I like it so far.  I got a support belt toward the end of my last pregnancy and I like this better.

  • I got mine from my doctor.

I'd recommend going through a doctor or physical therapist so they can send you in the right direction and show you how to use it and adjust it properly.  I know without that, I would have just ripped it out of the package and worn it all wrong lol

  • I got mine with a prescription from my doctor. It's a Prenatal Cradle. I had to go to a medical supply company to be sized for it. Honestly, it's a pain. It has straps that crisscross in the front and back(think between your boobs) and the straps show no matter what kind of top I'm wearing. It's also hot. All that being said, though, it really does provide great support. It's extremely helpful if you're doing a lot of walking or are on your feet for a long time. I avoid wearing it, but I can definitely tell the difference when I do.
I just looked it up .. that looks like a PITA to put on a daily basis. I don't blame you for avoiding wearing it but if it helps .. it helps :-)

I have one, it was a prescription from the dr. I didn't have to pay anything and it's custom fitted but it helps a TON. They have different ones you can buy from motherhood and stuff. I just wear mine under a shirt and it's no big deal. Mine looks like this:

  • I just started using one called Mom-Ez. Soooo nice. Especially if you're on your feet all day. Not the most comfortable to sit down in but it definitely helps and you can feel a big difference.
Sorry for the crappy layout. I bump from my phone. AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers

I have the same one & like it just fine. Like pp's said, it can get uncomfortable, but it helps a ton. This one doesn't rally have to be "sized," it's velcro & pretty adjustable. :) GL!

The specialist heated up the back insert and molded it to my back so it was more comfortable and fit better. So it wasn't about figuring wether or not I needed a medium or large or something.

  • I had been researching ways to help my split abdominal muscles when I got pregnant.  Knowing my muscles were already very separated, I decided to order something with more coverage than the under belly support I had with my second.  I chose this: https://thetummyteam.com/abdominal-splinting/purchase-your-abdominal-splint/

I got the tall when I probably didn't need it, and it's a bit hard to hide under my shirts without adding a stretchy tank to smooth out the Velcro.  However, it's really helped.  I'm hoping this will help keep this baby from just hanging out transverse like my second baby did.
