This is going to sound nuts but I had a strong feeling that I would end up expecting twins about 3 months before I started my last IUI cycle. I used a variety of fertility meds of progressively increasing rates of multiples so we always knew there was a chance.
A & K, married 7/1/13.
After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.
No....I was showing a lot more, but I attributed that to the fact that had just lost a baby at 20 weeks 3 months earlier and I hadn't fully gone back to normal. I never thought twins until I saw it on the u/s and I was shocked.

Nope, It was a total shocker to me when I found out there were two heartbeats at the ultrasound. I had a bit more morning sickness going on, but I thought I 'knew' that was because it was gonna be a girl...nope! 2 more boys!

We lost our beautiful Twin baby girls on June 18, 2014. Tavin Sara and Casey Elizabeth were born at 21 weeks gestation and were absolutely beautiful, precious, amazing babies. We miss our daughters every day and love them with all our hearts.
I had a stronger feeling it was twins when I was pregnant with my DD, so it clearly was a wrong instinct. This time I just hoped it was twins, but didn't really have a gut feeling. I knew when I saw two little beans on the u/s.
I had absolutely NO clue whatsoever. We were (and still are) shocked. Some things make a little more sense now looking back. Like, I had a lot of morning sickness this time in 1st tri and I didn't have any at all with my boy or my girl. I was showing a lot earlier and gaining a lot faster this time around but I thought it was because it was my 3rd. We later found out (at 17 weeks) it's because I'm carrying my 3rd and 4th.
No, it was definitely a shock, but I will say that I had a feeling early on that something wasn't quite right with this pregnancy, as compared with my singleton.
Yes, I've always had a feeling we'd have twins. Don't ask me why. I tend to have strong intuition about a lot of things.... It's weird yet pretty nice.
When the RE put in two good quality embryos is when I first thought, "Hmm. This might be twins!" Honestly, I did have super high betas and whatnot, but that doesn't even mean twins. I truly had no idea until I saw two of them on my first ultrasound.
N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!
TTC since 2011
Aug. - Sept. 2013 - dIUIs = BFNs
January 2014 - IVF = 3 freezer babies
March 2014 - FET of AA and AB blast = BFP! Twins!
Nov. 7, 2014 - Wilhelmina "Willa" Suzanne (4lb 14oz) and Ari Jose (6lb 4oz) were born via CS
I transferred two embryos but I really thought only one had implanted. My betas were high but I was told several times by my RE's office not to expect twins. I had no morning sickness until 7 weeks (after I found out they were twins) and all my dreams were of having one little boy. I have two girls.
I had a very strong feeling I was. I have three other children and had zero morning sickness with any of them, my breast were never tender 3 pretty boring pregnancies( which was great!) This time around my breast were/ are very tender, horrible morning sickness and was so tired my fist trimester. My husband and I would joke around saying that I was pregnant with twins:) I guess my feeling was right!
No clue! Looking back they do run on both sides of the family but it literally didn't cross my mind for a second. We had miscarried 4 mo earlier so my hubby and I went into the appt prepared for anything. But when the tech said do you take fertility drugs, I thought that was an odd question because I didn't. Then she said she's not supposed to say it but, sees two heartbeats. I literally said, "oh my god, the baby has two hearts"; she explained no, there were two babies. I couldn't comprehend the words coming out of her mouth. My hubby and I just kept repeating, Ow. . My . . . God . . . From that point, all the way home and for days after that. To go from the excruciating pain of loosing a baby, to now having this amazing miracle of two . . . It still takes my breathe away !!
Well they put in two embryos.... And apparent my brain thought it was twins. My husband repeatedly reminded me that we knew nothing and to wait got the ultra sound. I agreed but kept saying they when talking about them during the wait time.
**lurker here (been lurking because I've had the feeling I was having twins since my BFP)**
I "just knew"; I was having twins dreams from the beginning, I felt implantation cramping the day after I got a faint BFP, and couldn't shake the thought that it was twins. Found out at the 7wk u/s that one of the twins didn't make it, so my hunch was right on, even though we were dealing with a vanishing twin. All that to say that sometimes intuition is right.
No idea until the U/S. however, before I found out it was twins I had a dream that at a gender reveal we opened two boxes of balloons and one had pink and the other blue. I blew it off until I remembered a few days after my ultrasound. FWIW, I have ID boys, not one of each.
Yes, I had a feeling that our final IUI was gonna work and that it would be twins. I can't say why though!! DH actually had the same feeling as well. Neither of us were shocked at our first US at 5w5d. Obviously this isn't the norm!

I guess I'm the odd one here but I totally had a feeling I was having twins. Not because of any specific symptom I was having or anything but I just kept thinking, "how crazy/awesome would it be if there were two in there?" My family would always joke that I was going to have twins too. I had always wanted twins growing up but I definitely was still shocked when we found out we really were having twins at the ultrasound. Still can't believe I have two babies sometimes!
I had 2 embryos transferred, and was pretty sure both had taken. DH and I both felt boy/girl from the start, he even said 'look that one is the boy, and that's the girl' about the embryo images at our transfer. But my mom always said she wanted to be a grandma to twins, from the time I was a kid!
I think my mother in-law knew before we did. The day we told them we were pregnant, my mother in-law goes..."With TWO??" So random, I know. Then at our 7w2d u/s when we saw both heartbeats, we called her immediately because we couldn't believe it.
I had a feeling I was pregnant with twins because my morning sickness (more like all day sickness) was wayyyy worse than my first pregnancy. I was also extremely tired..I just had a feeling!
