Dreading telling my MIL

We'll have to tell my MIL about the pregnancy after tomorrow's u/s, because we want to tell our kids & they can't keep a secret... LOL

NOT looking forward to that... She's been VERY outspoken about my NOT getting pregnant again throughout the past 5 years after DS!
Decided to send DH by himself to tell them & explain that this was unplanned & I don't need the negativity or scrutiny...

I'm sorry your MIL isn't supportive of you guys. Before I got PG this time (but after my m/c, which she is unaware of), my mom told me it would be terrible for me to have a third baby because my two were already an handful. This from the woman who told me on Mother's day I was "awful" and replied, "Yeah right" when I told her Happy Mother's Day,

FX you MIL is more supportive of you guys soon. ((hugs))

I don't see why your husband needs to say it was even unplanned. It's none of her business what you and your DH do with your lives! This makes me so mad!!!

Good luck! Glad your DH is willing to talk with his mom... So many times they aren't. Honestly though... It's none of get business whether it was planned or not. I like the last bit though!

i'm so sorry you're having to deal with unsupportive family members. i never understand why people think it's appropriate to comment on when other people have children (or don't), like it's their effing business. i'm not really looking forward to telling my own parents. when i told them about our loss, the first question out of each of their mouths (because i had to tell them separately, which is a whole other annoyance) was, "was this planned?" WTF difference does it make? judgement...exactly what i needed in that moment.

Is your MIL financially supporting your family in any way, shape, or form? If the answer is NO, then the number of children YOU and YOUR HUSBAND decide to have is none of her business! Unbelievable!

I don't think it's any of your MIL business what you and your DH decide to do, but I know that not caring what she thinks is easier said than done. For various reasons I know my parents won't be that thrilled about me being pregnant, and it will probably be hard for me to tell them too. I just keep telling myself that this is my life, my decision, and I have a right to make choices without fearing what my family thinks. Every baby is a miracle that should be celebrated!

I'm sorry you ladies are having to deal with this. I have the opposite MIL case. She thinks because we all live together she should have some right to it or something...laid the "oh ok, I guess I'll just have to wait to find out the sex" on me after I told her this weekend I had an appointment on Monday. Guess what lady, we are ALL waiting it's way to early to know the gender yet. Geez
