Pregnant after 35

Intro (warning: quick conception)

Hello,

I guess I belong back on this board! When we had DD2 in Dec. 2012 we were pretty sure she would be our last baby. As she grew we started wavering and wondering if we should push it to the max and squeeze in one more. We went back and forth for months and just could not decide about whether to go for #4. Finally decided to give it a shot since we were so much on the fence and didn't want to have regrets later, and April conception meant a baby just before I turn 40 in January. It worked! Hoping this baby sticks and that all will be well, while simultaneously freaking out and thinking, "how are we going to do this??". This means about 4 more years until all my kids are potty trained and mostly self-sufficient at a park or a McD's playland. :) And, I can hardly manage 3 so close in age...how do we go anywhere with FOUR? I'm also worried about going through the newborn and breastfeeding stages again, but happy to have another go-round with the really cute early toddler stages.

I was working FT but just left my job in March. SAH has been great for me so far, but I wonder how I will handle pregnancy as a SAHM. I had a lot of back issues last time and I was grateful to be able to go sit at my desk most of the day. On the other hand, maybe staying more active at home will be helpful. Fingers crossed.

I am 39 and will turn 40 at the end of January. DH is 41. My baby ticker is a couple days behind.

  • Congrats!!!

Going from two kids to three was WAY harder than going from three to 4, in my opinion! I think you already did the hard part lol. The 5 and 4 year olds will be a big help with the two littles. Believe it or not haha : )
