Is this a good deal?

The pump I got from insurance is the basic Medela double electric pump. No "let down" feature. Someone in my area is selling her PISA for $50 with everything included. I would use my own pump parts. I'm VERY tempted to buy this.

Re: Is this a good deal?

  • If you have the money, I would buy it.

    Can you return the Medela?

Wow - great price! Since you are using your own pump parts, it seems like too good of a deal to pass up.

I don't know if I can return it. Insurance covered it 100%. Is there any benefit to trying to return it?

Does your pump look like this? @aforst‌

Also, on the insurance pump, the button above the AC adaptor is the let down button, no?

That's not the pump I have. The one I have has an on/off switch and you can adjust the suction. There is definitely no let down button

  • I didn't have a let down feature with mine and would just change the suction and speed after a bit.

  • As @RondackHiker‌ said you could just use lower suction until you get a letdown and then increase it.

I couldn't see your picture but this one is mine. I usually do increase the suction when I have a letdown and that seems to help. My pump is fine, that just seemed like a good deal for all that stuff. I've been reading more about open systems and I don't think I'll get it.
