Week 29 and EXHAUSTED

I'm a FTM who has had an uneventful and easy pregnancy so far, and after the expected exhaustion of the first trimester, I had an awesome second trimester. Now that I'm 29 weeks 4 days I am getting really exhausted. I have been really fortunate in that I've been losing weight, but my belly is definitely getting big, putting strain on my back and I'm having trouble getting comfortable in bed and I get up to pee around four times a night. Today I stayed home from work and have slept around 4 hours, and I still feel tired! I know it's only going to get harder in the coming weeks, and I just wanted to make sure that this isn't unusual... It's hard work growing a tiny human!

Looking forward to busy days and sleepless nights effective 8/2/14!

Re: Week 29 and EXHAUSTED

  • I can relate! I've had an 'easy' pregnancy so far, aside from the normal morning sickness and exhaustion from the first trimester. Second trimester was a breeze and went by so fast! The exhaustion has returned as well as some unwelcome nausea. I feel the same way, it is hard work growing a tiny human! I have to remind myself and my husband of that, especially when I'm heading to bed at 9:00!!

I can relate too, but have they checked your iron levels yet? I just had mine done last week and now I have to take a supplement twice per day so we will see how I feel now.

Not unusual at all but if you feel like something is off get your thyroid checked in addition to the iron checks suggested above.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! I just can't get enough sleep. Luckily no back pain yet. My girfriend had back pain that kept her awake. She got a belly support band and now has no back pain :)
  • I'm exhausted all the time. When I mentioned it to my regular doc when I went in for a strep culture- asking if I should have my iron checked- she looked at me with the crazy eye. She pointed out that it's hot, I'm pregnant, and I have a 14 month old.

So mine is probably more environmental than physical, lol.
