Vent - Doctor Still Doesn't Have Progesterone

I've been on bed rest since 26w2d and part of the decision we made was for me to get weekly shots of progesterone to help with my cervical shortening.  I went in last Friday for my weekly cervical check and shot; when they went to get the shot they realized they didn't have any progesterone in the office.  They made some calls to other offices to see if they could get one and had no luck.  I was told they had ordered some and it would be in yesterday morning, to call and make sure and I could stop in really quick to get it.  They didn't get it in yesterday, why they have no clue.  So my MA I see said she'd call me this morning to let me know the status, that it should be in and I could once again plan on swinging by and getting it.  It's noon here and I hadn't heard from her so I called, well they still haven't received the shipment and now they are saying it should be there tomorrow.  I'm going on almost two weeks without it now and I'm worried that it's been helping and not having it is going to allow something to happen and the babies to come early.  I definitely understand that things happen but I feel like I'm getting the run around on this one.  That's all, thanks for letting me vent ladies!  I just want these babies to stay put, last week my cervix was at 1.2cm, I'm so worried.

  • Ugh how stressful. Try to relax and rest. Hope they get their butt in gear soon.

  • Ask for suppositories? That's what I take nightly for short cervix. Been taking those since 24w and it seems to be helping.
  • That is so frustrating!!  Sorry you have to deal with that on top of everything else.  Can you get the shot (or tell them to get the shot) from someone else?
They've called a ton of other offices in the area to try and get some and haven't been able to.  I'm hoping it comes in today, I have my weekly appointment tomorrow.  I could get it from the pharmacy possibly but the non-generic is $1000 and insurance doesn't cover it.  I only pay $10 for the shots when I get them at the office.

That's actually a good idea, if I call today and they haven't got the shot I'll ask about these.
