Just wondering what time of day you are feeding LO solids? Also, when you introduce veggies after LO has been getting cereal, do you feed veggies along with the cereal? Thanks ladies!
We've been having cereal at 10:30 am for at least 10 days. Some days she has refused to eat it so I don't know if that counts. I'm just going to move on to veggies anyway. Our pedi told us to do solids twice a day, morning and evening.
We started solids on Saturday, we feed him at his 5:30 bottle time. It's the next to last feed before bedtime. We haven't started veggies yet, but I think we're going to start on Saturday, so he will have had oatmeal for one week before introducing other veggies. We'll start green for 3 days and then orange/yellow. The next week will be fruits mixed with his oatmeal.
We do it around 6 pm, but that's really because it works with our work schedules. We don't have enough time in the morning and I don't get home until right around 6.
This is our second week and she has cereal around 7:00am and veggies at 6:00pm and I just make the puree without the formula, I use water to make it and for the cereal I use baby apple juice.
We did once a day for two weeks and then just yesterday we started a second feeding. once a day he gets cereal (for the iron per pedi recommendation) then once he gets veggie. he has only had avacado and carrots.
We'll probably do 5:30pm since we both work weekdays. However, one thought I heard is that earlier in the day is better should there be an allergic reaction--then you're not dealing with it in the MOT. That doesn't work with our schedule though,

We do it in the evening, anywhere from 4:30-5:30pm, depending on our schedule that day. We started off with oatmeal and tonight she will begin veggie #4. Every few nights I do the oatmeal instead of a veggie, but I don't do both in one feeding. For my older kids I did mix the cereal in with the purees because they liked the thicker consistency. Once she get's through all the fruits and is closer to 6 months then we will probably start doing fruit or oatmeal in the morning, then veggies at night.
We do lunch, a good time to introduce a new food then if there is a reaction it's not overnight. Then dinner at 6:30 so we can all eat together and bath after. Just introduced a little breakfast now, bit of banana in the morning.
