Fetal movement?

When you felt the baby move the very first time did you feel it consistently everyday after that?
I'm 13 weeks with my second child and I felt movement once yesterday.

I am aware that I am on the September 2014 board and I am also aware I am not due in September. I asked on this board because I know you ladies were farther along than me and would have already had lots of fetal movement. Thanks for responding.

Re: Fetal movement?

  • Definitely not. It was so little in the beginning it made me question if I felt it at all. Now at 24 weeks, I feel baby girl every day.

  • No. I felt movements this time around 12 weeks but I didn't feel it consistently till 19-20 weeks. I feel him everyday now at 22+ weeks.

  • Hmm 13 weeks. Did you post on the wrong board?

  • Not consistent here. OB told me not to expect consistency until 28 weeks.

23 weeks here and like knovitski my OB said that "if you are feeling something you haven't felt before it's probably baby" however I have only felt slight movement. Nothing distinctive or consistent yet. Hopefully soon.
  • FTM here. I thought I felt something at 16 weeks but wasn't sure until 17 and started feeling her at least a little bit each day. Now at 24 weeks, I feel her more regularly and have an idea of her sleep/awake pattern. Her movements are strong enough to make my belly jiggle now.

  • Thanks ladies no I didn't post on the wrong board. I knew you guys were farther along than the ladies onmy board so you would know for sure. Thanks again

I think you are on the wrong board but I will answer anyways.  (I am due the 2nd to last day in September and am 21 weeks so there is no way you are due in Sept if you are 13 weeks. :-) )

I first felt my LO when I was 20 weeks. It was/is just basic flutters and I don't feel her every day.  I would say I almost feel her every day but I am still not 100% sometimes it's her.  I am really waiting for some blatant "Hello Mom, I'm here!" kicks. I can't wait but I'm not expecting those for an other week or two. I can't wait for my husband to be able to feel her either.

  • I am not due in September I just figured you ladies were farther along and had already had lots of fetal movement so you would know for sure. The ladies on my board may not have had any fetal movement at all yet is the reason I asked on this forum!

I wasn't sure if I was feeling baby or gas bubbles until about 18 weeks and it wasn't consistent at first. In the last couple weeks, since about wk 20, I've felt him moving around pretty regularly and the movements are definitely more obvious now!

  • I guess I'm in the minority, but I have felt her everyday since I first felt her move at right before 18 weeks. Movement is in no way consistent yet, and has definitely gotten stronger and more frequent lately. I wouldn't expect consistent daily movement at 13 weeks, though, so don't worry if you're not.

  • Im a FTM and I think I started to feel a little something around 17 weeks.  I wasnt even sure what I was feeling and if it was the baby.  I think by the time I was 18-19 weeks I knew it was the baby.  Id feel it a few times a day most days.  To me it feels like a flutter or more so almost like a twitch from the inside.

Now at almost 22 weeks, it feels the same, but I feel it more often. Here and there through out the day.  I feel the baby the most when Im at work at my desk, probably because Im leaning over and probably squeezing LO a bit

Im with some of the other moms here though.  Im looking forward to hard kicks and kicks I can feel on the outside.

Good luck with your pregnancy OP

I am 23 weeks this week and I still dont feel/notice baby move everyday.  I think I felt flutters for the first time around 19 weeks but wasn't positive about it until about 20 weeks.

  • I felt some flutters around 19/20 weeks. Now at 24 weeks I can feel him a bit more, but its still more like a tapping/flutter from the inside than a KICK. I can also feel him re-position himself every now and then. He likes to hang out on my right side. So, my belly often looks lopsided. :(
