I've had a lot of dental work starting when I was a kid. It's never really bothered me but as I get older, I really freak out inside while sitting in the chair.
Today I had an appt to get 2 cavities filled. I was fine while they stuck the needles in for the novicaine but afterwards my heart started racing, I started shaking and felt like I could barely breathe. I know the novicaine can cause the first 2 symptoms but the shortness of breath was scary shit.
Does this sound like a panic attack?

The older I get, the more intense my anxiety is about dental work. I get gas for my cleanings and I get IV sedation for everything else. I refuse to be conscious for any part of it. The Valium never touched my anxiety during fillings. I need big drugs.
I broke part of my crown two weeks ago and I have an appointment with a dentist tomorrow. I'm 14 weeks pregnant, so no drugs for me. I'm really hoping it's stable and I can wait til I give birth to have it fixed.
I used to feel like a weirdo asking for drugs, but I really need them. I can't deal otherwise.
