Follicle sizing through cycle

Ok, so looking for some input on this one. My anxiety hasn't been this bad since after IVF 2 last summer. I'm on day 13 of stims today and go back tomorrow for more monitoring. On day 5, no thing measurable, but was told 3 follies. On day 8, I had 1 at 12 and 1 at 10 with 5-10 on one ovary that were less than 12mm. On day 11, I was told I had 3 measurable and nothing else. Those three were sized 12, 15, 16. Now today I have 2, sized 15 and 20. Looking at my results, it says 2-4 that are less than 12 on each ovary. My e2 is 1524. When I asked what happened to the rest, they told me they're gone and maybe they reabsorbed into the ovary. Anyone have a cycle like this? I'm surprised I haven't been cancelled yet. I had a feeling this estrogen priming was going to be awful for me again. Thanks ladies.

Hmmm, well I've had cycles before where I had a few really good ones then the next scan they'd be gone. Did you have a different tech do the scan? Because I found they all measure ten different... When I was at the original tech that measured me the big ones were back. Also, there's usually smaller ones in hiding or maybe they just can't see them. With the largest at 30 but an e2 of 1500, if imagine there were more than two mature ones they're not accounting for.

Can't figure out how to edit mobile... Not more than two mature I just meant more than two. There's probably other smaller ones under the measurement guidelines they use.

thanks @kflynn81 It does seem to be difference in techs. I finally had the same tech this morning as Friday and she found 3 good ones. I was spoiled at my old clinic because had the same 2 techs and 2 nurses and they told me everything since they knew me.

I'm sorry, it's always hard to know what the best decision is! Do you usually stim this long? What has your past e2 levels been at the time of trigger in your previous cycles?

Basically all my cycles were like this-- I'd go in praying a 2nd or 3rd measurable would be there. I was always on the verge of cancellation until I switched to a high FSH doctor who would retrieve whatever I had. It's always very stressful/anxiety ridden waiting for someone to tell you if it was over. For me, once a cycle was started, it counted as an insurance cycle so I always begged for a retrieval sinceI had nothing to lose. I can't see your prior cycles but how many eggs did you get the prior times? I knew I was never getting more than 1-3 eggs so I just went forward. Hugs.

Thanks ladies - I usually stim for 12-15 days with 600 gonalf and either 75 menopur or low dose HCG. I've gotten 5 eggs with long lupron, 3 eggs with a Estradex (similar to EPP) and 8 eggs MDLF with my peak E2 usually ~1300-1700 each time. I think they'll just have me trigger tonight - this is another EPP cycle, but new RE and different meds. I was a bit skeptical to do EPP again since the last EPP was awful. This RE is a DOR specialty as well so I imagine that's why he's not cancelling - my insurance is the same way where it counts either way - are you in MA, McIrish?

Oh that stinks that it counts whether or not you go to ER. In that case you definitely have to see it through. Sending Ts& Ps your way. Please keep us updated.

PS- EPP was never a good protocol for me either. B/c of the DOR, each doctor always wanted to do that protocol. I did the best on MDL & LLP.

I'm in MA as well, McIrish. Just switched with this cycle to Bos.ton IVF with Dr. Ber.ger. Retrieval is in the morning, and I'm hoping we get the 3. G&T, that's interesting that you did better on LLP and MDL as well. I was thinking that I wonder if I would do better on the LLP with higher stims.

I did terrible on anything high stim. I did better with low stim/Dr Check in NJ. If I was younger, I'd probably would have gotten better quality embryos.
