Bachelorette party ideas

I'm throwing my BFF a bachelorette party in July and need some ideas. She's looking for more day-time, family friendly events as her fiance's younger sister (16-17)and both moms will be joining in the festivities. I've looked in to the wine/canvas events and keeping that as an option, but would like some alternative ideas too. The party will be 2 weeks before the wedding, so I don't think mani/pedis would be appropriate since they'd likely have to be re-done before the wedding. There will be about 9-11 in our group.

I usually have my nails done every 2 weeks so I'd think that would be perfect timing actually.

Other ideas:

a group cooking class where you all eat together at the end -- or have a chef come to the house to do an in-person cooking class.

City-wide scavenger hunt for locations that are meaningful to the couple and their relationship (ie, site of first date, first kiss, favorite bowling alley, etc, with clues leading people to those spots)

Day at the beach or pool (depends on weather)

Does she have any hobbies that you could theme it around?

I am going to a weekend bridal shower/bachelorette event next month and we are; having a pool party Saturday, going to dinner and a wine bar Saturday night, having brunch Sunday, then going to the Queen Latifah show after. Do you have a local comedy club or anything like that nearby?

Or a boat cruise on one of the rivers or Lake Minnetonka or something like that? I like the cooking class idea too. Those can be a riot.

@JSS1002, she's super outdoorsy. No one else in the group is though (not that it needs to be about the group, but I'm not sure everyone's comfort level with that kind of stuff). I do love the pool/beach day though! As you know though, MN weather is unpredictable! Although, in July you'd hope we'd be plenty warm for a water day!

@tondraluv, we have a couple comedy clubs here -- I'll definitely look in to those! I think the whole group would love that.

@Kate_C Wait........ Lake Minnetonka is real!!!!!????? I've always thought it was a mythical place where I can meet Prince in my dreams. I'm assuming it's in Minnesota seeing as that's where Prince is from?

@Kate_C I don't know how I didn't think of that. Her wedding is taking place on a paddle boat on the Mississippi - that could be a great "kick off" to her wedding festivities!

You just need to come visit and see it for yourself! Yes, it's a real, huge lake where the rich and beautiful people in MN live and play. I've never been there, other than driving past for work (I qualify as neither rich nor beautiful).

I'ts real - but I hate to break it to you, the movie wasn't really filmed there... First Ave is very real though, that's right by my office and I've been there many times (the club where he plays).

Huge prince fan here. have done the midnight parties at Paisley Park too many times to count. :-)

I was just going to suggest this -- is it on the Paddleford? On Lake Minnetonka they also do themed cruises -- pizza cruise, beer cruise, etc...

Everyone has great suggestions. I've been to a couple bachelorette parties where we went to drag shows and they were SO FUN. I'm not sure in your area what would be available, but in Chicago you can definitely go to a drag revue without it being a 21 and over club. Whatever you do, have a blast!
