Inappropriate lullabies

The Pandora lullaby station plays some soothing yet not-really-comforting songs for baby.  My favorites: "Say Something (I'm Giving Up On You)" and an acoustic version of "Pompeii."  Nighty night, DD - I'm giving up on you and the world is exploding!  Sleep well!

I suppose it's no worse than "when the bough breaks the cradle will fall"?

  • Ooh I'm worse... I can't remember the actual words to a lot of the traditional kid sons so I just butcher them and make up my own! I have a version of the mockingbird song that is just pathetic! My kid is going to grow up thinking she knows the words to these sons and find out mama was making then up all along! :-)

    So funny! Well, the actual words to that song are pretty dumb: "If that ox and cart falls over, Momma's gonna buy you a dog named Rover."  So awful!  I had to look up the words the other day!  I sing DD to sleep most nights so I'm always looking for new material!

  • Yes, I too have heard both of those songs!

    I am cheap and have the free version, so every few songs a blaringly loud commercial plays. DS is calm and listening and then WALGREENS!!!!

  • After this post, all I can think about is the friends episode where Ross and Rachael sing "baby got back" to their baby to make her laugh.

    Bahaha-why?  I have heard of quite a few crazy pandora lullaby songs lately.

    Speaking of inappropriate children's songs....Has anyone hear "There's a Spider on the Floor" by Raffi?  One of the lines is "There's a spider on my head.  Oh how I wish that I were dead."  WHAT!??   My and my husband thought of a dozen different rhymes that were more appropriate for this song.  Why go the suicide route with a kid's song?
    (didn't mean to hijack your post!)
    @MichieU79: That is awful!
