We are doing IVF! Baby/loss mentioned

So I have been in contact with our clinic and after a lot of back and fourths ( we still owe $2700 from our previous cycles) they have approved us to use an infertility grant for IVF without paying off our current balance.  This is great news considering we would have had to come up $6000 by July.


I am excited yet terrified.  I don't want to allow myself to get excited.  I'm in such a good place right now and I am so scared that if this doesn't work I will slip back into depression and get bitter and cry every time I see or hear about pregnancies or babies. I'm so scared I keep trying to talk myself out of doing this because I don't ever want to go back to that angry place again but if I didn't do it I would regret it for the rest of my life. Ugh I hate how IF makes so many decisions so difficult!


Side note-  My cousin went to a physic and the lady asked her if she had a cousin that was having difficulties getting pregnant and had a loss, My cousin said yes and the physic told her that the baby I lost was there and to keep trying.  So now I'm like do I keep trying naturally or move right into IVF?! I know I can't put to much faith in what a physic says but its still mind F'ing me!

    Wow! Congrats on getting the grant. That sounds amazing. It is nice to hear about a clinic who is helping couples afford IVF. I also struggle with depression. I don't know what your support network looks like but it has been really helpful for me to make a plan with my therapist, family and friends when I know something difficult is coming up. The plan usually involves extra therapy sessions and fun planned activities out of the house. Hope your cycle goes well!

    I think that is a great idea for me to make an apt with a therapist and also make sure I have things planned to get my mind occupied!

    Married 2010, together since 2006. TTC for #1 since March 2012, actively charting since November 2013
    March 2014 - HSG left tube blocked, right tube partially blocked bilaterial partial obstruction; onward to the RE in April
    May 1, 2014 - Lap surgery and chromopertubation; Dr removed a bit of endo, but everything looks healthy & tubes are clear!
    May 2014- First medicated cycle, 2.5mg femara+TI; BFN
    June 2014- 2.5mg femara + hCG + IUI     on 6/18= BFP on 6/28!; C/P on 7/3
    July 2014- 2.5mg femara + IUI #2 on 7/18. Starting progesterone 7/23, bfn
    August 2014- 2.5mg femara + hCG + IUI # 3 on 8/15. BFN
    Tx break
    IVF #1 -
    12/1 - TOT & SIS- RE found a polyp
    12/15 - Hysterscopic surgery to remove the polyp; additional polyps found and removed
    12/29- Good baseline u/s, 12 antral follies
    12/30- Started stimming
    1/10 - ER: 17 retrieved, 14 fertilized!

    Congratulations, I am so glad that everything is working out like that.

    It sounds you are taking a really important step in "trying" to have a baby, regardless of how the psychic meant their advice.

    I hope everything goes really smoothly for you getting started!

    Congratulations on the grant! I'm glad you are able to move forward.

    Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013. 

    11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good. 

    12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

    12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

    IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN

    That's great about the grant. I wouldn't put any stock in the psychic, but that's just me. Best of luck on IVF!

    Congrats on the grant! That's fantastic!

    As for the psychic, I totally get how you can simultaneously not believe in it but also let it bother you. I consider myself a pretty non-superstitious, grounded person, but sometimes I still fall victim to stuff like "If I want a baby too much this month, it won't happen because the universe will punish me for wanting it." 

    Stay focused on the science for now and let the psychic say what she likes.
